  • Is it Worth Waiting for 2017 KTM Duke 200 ?

    Hey folks!

Should I just go ahead and get myself a Duke 200 now or should I wait till the new gen 2017 KTM Bikes get launched.

I've been following the 2017 Duke 390 leaks (no 200 leaks O.o) for a while now but might not wait till Q1,17 and its initial units will also have a new set of issues due to the rushed up assembly line. IMO it's better to buy a product 3-4 months post launch to get a non defective unit.

I'd very much like to get a different perspective from experienced folks.

    Cheers!

That depends on can you wait? Or do you need to purchase a bike immediately. If you wait, you might find some new bikes in the market as well!
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Give your details here if you want to help your fellow xBhpian stranded in your city

Patience will be rewarding in this case. If you can wait, it will be worth it. Otherwise, current model of duke 200 is great from quality and refinement perspective.

If you have no urgent need to get yourself a new ride, waiting would be beneficial, 2017 vehicles will come with new safety and pollution norms. There are rumors about ABS being compulsory, new environmental laws too, which would be a good addition to the new vehicles and the owner will benefit from it. So it would be wise to wait and watch how things turn out in the near future.
I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

Well, I'm kinda against buying products until its like 3 or so months post launch due to the fact that the initials units are always rushed and comes with some sort of issues.

Well, in that case the prices will be shot up due to BS IV norms and the VFM might go down. Although the 2017 KTM Duke 390 Console leaks and Headlamps are tempting.

What if I get a D200 now and then will sell it off once the HYPE period of 2017 Gen KTM dies a bit down? (A year or so? ). I'm not really sure about this approach.

Yes brother, there will be considerable price bump, thanks to the added tech and sensors. But they are proven to save life when things go wrong and if you can afford an expensive fast bike I don't think you will mind paying a bit extra for your safety.

Buying a new bike for such a short time period is not advised brother. You see these bikes do not have good resale value, you will lose a huge amount of money if you sell it. And there is no point in selling a new D200 and buy the same thing again (no upgrade in power. Just different looks).

If you are really in need of a bike right now, buy it now, the current generation is very good, No problems at all. There will always be something around the corner, be it today, next year or the year after that, and you will always be waiting.

But if you have some form of transport now and want to upgrade to D200, then waiting makes sense, because you have a means of travel right now and waiting a few months will provide you with a brand new model of the D200.

            Choose wisely brother.

              Thanks for advices, folks!
