The Yammie sounds like a better deal.
You mentioned that your son who is 16 will be riding this bike. I hope you will reconsider this, since it is illegal in India for anyone below 18 to be riding geared motorcycles on public roads.Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!
Give your details here if you want to help your fellow xBhpian stranded in your city

Suggestions well taken care. Yes Yamaha is first favorite, however no news on ABS version so far. ABS version awaited. If not than other models need to be considered with ABS.
We are particular about our safety and legality. We do not ride, even cycle without helmet.
I just want to make my son learn till he acquires licence at the age of 18. Till than he can learn under my guidance.
I know when we were at that age, just used to admire motorcycles, but never owned one, never enjoyed the "Joy of riding".
Its my teenage dream, which I want to make it true, now. Also not depriving my son from joy of ride at the right age of licence.Avoid noise pollution. Avoid honking.

Re: Bikes with ABS + Any other safety features
Yammy should be the first choice out of the 2 shortlisted.
may I please suggest you to read the ownership experience threads for Benelli TNT series. From what I have heard - the bike seems value for money when you buy it, but the service, maintenance and cost of consumables is very very high. Also the life of brake pads, chain sprocket, and other consumables is very short. The regular service will cost you around 8000Rs, which is more that what you pay to service a car. Hence please go through the ownership threads to make an informed decision.I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

Re: Bikes with ABS + Any other safety features
Though you did said,
no budget limit and ABS clearly at your back of mind, I would suggest you wait for the R3 with ABS launch or think of D390 or CBR 250 ABS. Both being no less in performance and handling.

I am aware of the issues, right now looming large on the bike owners of DSK Benelli.
Most probably, the fun factor of riding big capacity bike outweighs the cons of DSK Benelli, if I am not wrong.
They are cheap to own but pricey at the end on service/spares/frequency of breakdown.
At Benelli's price point, the quality will never match with branded bikes. However this should be appreciated that, what cannot be provided by established brands, is being done by DSK Benelli. I appreciate DSK Benelli for this. At least we are able to see big bikes at affordable price point. Otherwise you keep waiting from the reputed brands to launch a bike and the price tag will be such that before buying, we take another six month to save the money to own one and the charm is lost for the brand, by the time we own one. Best example is Yamaha.Avoid noise pollution. Avoid honking.

I read somewhere in the ownership thread that the chain and sprocket set lasted less then 10000kms and the new one cost about 22000. Similarly the brake pads cost more than 3000 each and lasted 1/3 of what a brake pad should usually last. So just wanted that you take this into consideration before finalizing.
And yes, Yamaha does take its sweet time to put updates or new products in the market. Most people just get tired of endless waiting.
Happy bike hunting sir, do let us know what you finally decide.Last edited by Ankey; 10-18-2016, 03:12 PM.I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

Re: Bikes with ABS + Any other safety features
Your observations are very true. The bike parts if designed or manufactured in China, will have default quality problems, unless until there is a strong quality management and supervision placed at the factory itself to monitor the product manufacturing, unlike Japan China is not upto the mark, due to alike Indian industry quality policy. Any slack in management will be seen in the product being manufactured without quality. Same is true with Benelli. Benelli parent Company is Qianjiang-Benelli Motorcycle Group (QJB) has facility of mass production in China. QJB has their own models released in China as well as models in association with Benelli Italy. Primary stack holder is QJB & Benelli management is minimal in China. No quality management like Benelli-Italy. Benelli is reviving from the sickness when Japanese entered market and captured the world by their products. Just to share....Originally posted by Ankey View PostThat is true sir,

Re: Bikes with ABS + Any other safety features
Hi Moderators,
Requested to kindly close this thread.
Once I acquire the bike will update with the same.
My requirement of bike with ABS in R3, if launched in 2017 will pick up one otherwise for the time being I have decided to pick up a small bike R15. In 2017 end even R6 is slated to be launched hence I feel worth waiting an year for a good bike. Till than honing skills with R15 by all family members. As version 3 of R15 is also due, I am waiting again for this. Not in a hurry to compromise with my requirements. Therefore waiting....& waiting.
Thank you all forum members, for providing valuable suggestions, feed backs on ownership, alternate choices to conclude and narrowing down on the choice.
Great site to find great people with valuable information.
Thanks again.Avoid noise pollution. Avoid honking.
