Hi guys am in that stage of life where i am confused what my next bike should be. I had been riding a N300 till some time back, but had to let go of it. Now i have started collecting the finances for my next ride but am really not sure what to go for. Personally i would love a fully fared bike with comfortable ergonomic design. Have the Ninja 1000 in my radar but could hardly gather any info on any forum on ownership experience etc. could the brotherhood out there please help.

Thanx for approving the thread Mod. Well my budget is around 10-12 L and usage is gonna be weekend rides with an occasional tour here and there. I do need a comfortable pillion seat to accommodate my riding partner. Somehow i am skeptical about HD's ( owners please excuse me, it's a personal opinion, don't want to hurt sentiments). The Ninja 1000 will be the perfect fit for you in my opinion. A friend of mine bought one a few months ago after upgrading from the N650. The only issue he faces is to get a mechanic down from Delhi to Chandigarh to service the bike wherein he has to shell out the mechanic's shatabdi train fare. Other than that he is very happy with his choice of purchase and after changing the exhaust to an Akraprovic and air filter to a performance one, he is riding all over the lovely hills in Himachal. Since you have earlier owned the N300 and are aware of the super build quality that Kawasaki offers, you can be rest assured of the same if not better with the N1000. My suggestion is if you have the moolah, then go for this bike.Ride To LiveComment

Thanx Akshay for your prompt reply. Somehow the Kawasaki brand has always fascinated me and that's the reason i why i have been contemplating the N1000. However with such wide experience on this forum i want to be sure before i go in with such a huge investment. Have a look at Yamaha MT-09, It is just at the limit of budget. It is torqi at all range of revs, has diamond frame, ABS and Traction Control which are added safety features on bike. Moreover this is CBU and quality & reliability should not be as issue. Holding it for long as well, will not matter till you graduate to another powerful bike as this is uplifted model in the year 2015. Changes not anticipated quickly in this model (My personal view). However 115 PS with 847cc engine will suit to your taste or not, I am not sure about it !Originally posted by arnavsameer View Post

With some minor glitches Monster 821 is another perfect bike for street and sports.
Otherwise all rounder Ducati Scrambler is another choice for any riding situation as desired over the mood.
I will prefer to have one street Naked/Bikini fared and another one fully fared for some blast on stretchy roads.Avoid noise pollution. Avoid honking.Comment

You dont have to jump to the Liter class bikes. Consider the Versys 650 as well. Its a awesome touring machine and can be taken to off roads too. Wont bite you much on the maintenance side. Not sure what all electronic aids are present, correct me if I am wrong, I guess ABS is standard now in that.R15S - Current

Got a versys 650 couple of weeks ago and loving it. Do try to ride one and decide. If your heart wants the N1000 though, go for it. Only limitations i can see is service and spares availibility. Versys 1000 i guess is out of your budget but tbh i didn't know the N1000 was within 12 lakhs on road.

Thanks. Yeah it is the perfect bike for my budget and needs. Well then take a look at the tiger..more number of service centers than kawi and relaxed than a N1000. Don't have to worry about our potholed roads doing a number on the bike, and has a lot less plastic that can get dinged. You can also look at the suzuki gsxs1000f but that too has the limited service centers issue. Awesome value for money would be a z800 with a touring screen. Just a suggestion to never go for one without abs, though i suspect many bikes do come with abs as standard in this price rangeOriginally posted by arnavsameer View Post
