  • Suggestions need for a friend

My friend is currently using a Unicorn. He is looking to upgrade his bike to atleast the 200cc variant.

He is willing to spend anywhere between 1.5 to 2 lakhs. He has test driven all the RE. He wants to get a bike with ABS.

A big no to Bajaj especially.

Could you suggest a few options that we can look at. He can also wait for a few months to buy so no hurries.

    Query Approved

    The Apache 200?
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Give your details here if you want to help your fellow xBhpian stranded in your city

RTR 200 should be the answer, if the friend needs the bike right now.
CBR250R without ABS can also be considered.

If he can wait a few months.... could be a lot of months actually - then a lot of new bikes are promised for the next year (Gixxer 250, R15V3, hopefully HX250 from Hero stable, BMW 310, TVS Akula etc etc).
Add a few months to make sure that all the new bike niggles are ironed out by the company and it can be almost a year. So decide accordingly.
I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

Since your friend is holding Unicorn, why not look at the same line up, unless until your friend wants to ditch Honda for other factors worth considering. In the same line CBR 250 R (CABS) is worth the choice.

Have a look at Desi guys:
TVS RTR 200cc/21ps (ABS). (within budget, but not worth upgrade to 200 cc from 150cc)

Mahindra Mojo 300cc/27ps. (worth considering cc for upgrade, check the launch of ABS version)

Bajaj Kratos 373cc/35ps (launch awaited-out of question as decided by your friend)

Since no to Bajaj implies no to Benelli also, hence not listed.

Videshi guy: KTM Duke 390 (ABS) (worth the upgrade from smaller cc, if under budget I am not sure of the price)

        Cheers
