  • Purchase bike

Dear friends I am willing to take a bike ,so my daily run is 120 km to and fro, please suggest me the bike within the following .
    TVs victor
    Honda shine or
    Yamaha Saluto or any other
Most important criteria for me is comfort, I have seen and heard about shine that for long run with indian roads the depreciation is more in it.
I Don't know anything about new victor, overheard about problems in victor of starting if engine gets cool.

So please suggest me the bike for my daily commute

Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

      TVS Victor:
I own one(first Gen) since 2005 and its been working steadily since ever. Even after it was stored away for almost a year when i was amidst shifting from Pune to Hyd. Starts at first kick till now. gave me a Fuel Economy of close to 70Km/L.

With that being said, i would portray only 2 drawabacks of Victor GLX; (1) Reliable Service centres were scarcity (at the time); (2) Scarcity of spares, even at the service centres.

Other than that its a very reliable bike and much of a fill it and forget it bike!

      Honda Shine:
I used a relative's honda shine in Hyd for a daily run of 100 Kms for 3-4 months until my own bike was delivered to me. In that short span (of time) the observations i made are thus:-
      1. The bike gets the job well done.
      2. Struggles above 50kmph (I am 6ft tall and weigh 95kg)
      3. Developed some kind of valve closing issue where in the bike suddenly lost compression (even from running condition) and the kick just dropped down. had to get head lapping done to get it in running shape.

Fuel economy i got on the Shine was close to 50Km/L

Note that this Shine was used only few Kms in a month from almost 2 years as the owner stays in a different state and drives his car whenever he is back home.

I have no experience on yamaha bikes, neither does anyone i know, owns one.

I had purchased TVS Victor GLX at the time keeping in mind that it was slightly taller than the bikes available then.

I would suggest Honda Shine to you because its more Consistent in terms of sales as well as service. I never had any back aches on this bike and the bike is pretty much ca[able of handling city type bad roads.

Test ride all the bikes in subject. Check comfort level of pillion also if you are riding with pillion. Yamaha Saluto is one good choice with the level of quality parts.
        Avoid noise pollution. Avoid honking.

All of the bikes you shortlisted are good power commuters. Its just a matter of which one suits you the best.
Take long test rides of all the shortlisted bikes and choose the one that feels most comfortable to you.
I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.
