Are u kidding me ? Dominar is cheaper and offers lot more features. CBR is now ancient.

Do it, and give us the much needed review. [emoji14]

I sincerely hope more people buy other brands in the price range so that the esteemed gentlemen at HMSI dust off their butts and launch a worthy upgrade to the CBR. Or make good on their word and produce the 650f locally.

They wont. As its not affecting their Activa sales, for which they are only concerned.

I don't see Dominar's pricing in any place other than Coimbatore and Chennai (in Tamilnadu). If Bajaj launching it in phasing manner, it will take little time to come to your place (to get test ride).
Yes, I'm near Coimbatore. So, I hope I'll get the test ride soon enough

I suggest waiting a few months for the user feedback of 5k, 10k kms. That's what I would do, if I was in the market. Just remember the initial batches of the Duke 390. It took KTM a year or so to iron out the problems.
Yes buddy, I'm just taking a test ride. I definitely wanna wait until reviews come out. With better bikes coming, I think CBR is out of the equation.

One more thing : a couple of websites are suggesting that the Dominar is priced cheaply because they used basic tech in the engine. The bike has SOHC, while a certain ancient Bonda has a DOHC engine. Makes me wonder..

I'm confused, as the bike is 2011 model and no changes have been made since then.
I tour a lot and will I get spares, etc even if the vehicle is discontinued anytime soon?
PS: if not, suggest other good bikes for touring, below 2.2L (xcpt enfields. I've had my history with them)
              Thnx.
Cbr 250rr may be launching in india bro...but it won't be a tourer....i think you can go with the dominor also...as its an impressive bike and also if you like cruisers then you can check renegade commando.....it will be a great tourer...😉

I did get to ride renegade commando once . It had a relaxed ride. The handling was nice but had bigger turn radius and brakes werent upto the mark IMO. Also compared to RE, I felt some lack of power. Anyways, Dominar is pretty good for the price.
I'm gonna wait for D400 reviews.
Also, until now, widespread news was Honda isn't gonna launch CBR250rr and CBR300r in India. Are you sure of what you said? Any sources bro?

I heard once that cbr 250 will be getting updates....and yes i heard that an r model will be for india....as a 150 cc variant...but still we have to wait for the confirmation...by honda....Sure about RE's that you won't by them again? I suggest you to ride the himalayan....pretty good handler and a decent performer....and one adventure tourer from bmw is also arriving india in the mid 2017 the engine will be same as the G310s....

Yes. I saw that... But I'm worried abt the pricing of BMW tho. And RE I've had so many problems with them. A friend who had RE TB 350 gave it to me before he left abroad as he didnt want the bike to stay put. And I've spent more for the bike than I spent on myself those two years. [emoji14]
After sales service is very poor and only a few mechanics have a real good idea of how to rectify the problems dude. ( I'm saying this only comparing to the place I live in. There may be plenty of good mechanics in cities. That's the problem.)
But CBR is a great bike. Let's hope they release a new bike soon enough.!

You can also consider the new duke 390 it is also an awesome bike with tft display and some whooping amount of power....also the seating position is straight.....and i think the yamaha mt03 can also join us....what is your price bracket?

Re: Is it safe to buy a cbr 250r now?

Hey man, I own a 2012 CBR 250R with 35000+ km on the odo and it is still extremely reliable and comfortable for long distance rides.
It's looks are still appealing to me and I guess for you too as you are considering it for purchase. The maintenance costs and parts costs are extremely cheap. The Mahindra Mojo is more comfortable with its more upright seating and more cushioning on the seat, although it's looks may be quite controversial.
The 2017 ktm Duke portfolio would be great for track performance as they have advertised but won't be as much comfortable unless they have widened the seats and made them more comfortable. The Dominar is an excellent value for money at this point but wouldn't be a good choice for atleast an year till bajaj figures out all its quirks.
The only thing Honda could possibly do to this bike is release something BS-IV complient. So wait till 2017 and go for some test rides man! Get the bikes you shortlist for rent from daily rental firms in your city so you get them for a whole day. Buy what appeals to you!
P.S. Keep some money (15-20k) from your budget for a good riding gear.
                        Doing whatever it takes.

2L-2.3L including basic riding gear (jacket, gloves, boots, pants). I have a good helmet.
I think mt-03 is gonna be priced a bit high. Duke 390 is gonna be good I hope. They've improved the seating and the tank capacity is to be 13L(atleast better than the previous 10.5L tank)

Nice one. CBR always looks great.! I feel dominar is gonna be pretty good but anyhow its better to wait for some ownership reviews. And yes, Honda has to bring up some upgrades for the CBR seriously.

The duke 390 is having 13.4 litres tank in the new model and due to increase in weight ktm have increased the power from 43 to 44 and the torque from 35 to 37nm....and i think you must have heard about mumbiker nikhil the youtuber he covers long distances on his 2013 duke 390....so duke's worth giving a shot...😄
