I'm heavily considering the truimph street triple 765S, rode it, it was exciting and light weight and usable in the city and highways with a more powerful engine and good brakes.

That's a great bike...however, my wallet didnt allow but I will certainly suggest to go ahead with your inclination...the 2017 model is a lot lot more faster and hence, more fun...good luck!

Congratulations for new bike, do post some pics and your initial impression. Also if you have done first service, what was the service cost?

          Thanks a lot...pics very soon...

Initial impression can be summarized as below -
          1. Isnt as puny as it seems
          2. The throttle response and the low-end torque is simply amazing
          3. Bike does have some weight however, if you compare with the Stripple Z seems bulkier
          4. The paint, finish and the overall aesthetics seem very much in order
          5. The rear brake should have more bite (but could be just for my unit)
          6. Seems at ease in city (BLR) traffic...heat dissipation is fine (could have been better) - but I think am being greedy
          7. Pillion riding position is fine, but needs some adjustments for the newbies
          8. On the manufacturer and the dealer front - customer on-boarding requires serious effort to upstage...

Its been only a week, so the service is about 3 weeks away! Will share the update soon

            Nice [emoji106]🏻

How can you summarise your experience with dealership while purchasing the bike? Also what's the service interval 6000kms/6months?

                Hey guys,

hope you had a great Diwali, riding and being a responsible (environment friendly) citizen (of any city, doesnt matter the pollution levels)

So, in the last 3-4 weeks I've done some riding, to my chagrin, the weather has been utterly disappointing in south India and the BLR roads, the less said the better, I could only clock 400 odd kms...The city rides have been fine and the 2 sprints in NICE road have been full of pleasure, though I'm yet to reach the orgasmic RPM levels...

Anyways, until now what I dislike - the low bite on the rear brakes and the not so confidence inspiring tyre (and also the ineffective lamp)...guess, have to do bit of learning on this one and understand the potential and limitations of the bike better...That said, rest of the experience is a thumbs up! Hopefully, once I've done more noteworthy long distance riding, I can expound my experience further. On a different note, I've been invited twice by Kawasaki dealer for some rides planned during weekends, however, due to my travel I'd to give them a miss.

                1st service
                - Appointment : Simple phone call, service manager asked to come by and have it done. I got late in reaching the station so it took a lot longer (being a Saturday).
                - Time : Almost the entire day and I will explain why it took so long.
                - Activities : Usual - engine oil change, filter change, gaskets, etc. followed by chain - clean and & lube, washing and some other minor adjustments
                - Bill : 4200/- {2000 for labour & 2200 parts, etc) (I believe this is on a higher side, as I noticed few 'adjustments' charged casually...but, I too didnt do my part to deliberate and have them knocked off (learning for next time).
                - Overall Experience : Not too pleased as the time it took to attend and then get things done was way long (more than my typical car service).
                - Shock : After washing, when the vehicle had to be put on paddock stand, the mechanic noticed 'cut' screws near the swingarm...this apparently, has happened during the 'putting together of the bike' and hence, the paddock stand cant be 'fixed'...the service manager made some calls and told me this has happened earlier also and he will address (a workaround he is aware of)...by this time, I was pissed off and more concerned than ever...anyways, I didnt took it further and they finished the service tasks (which took a lot longer hence) on the side stand / with another mechanic assistance. I've sent a note to the dealer as the first step. Just a breather, another new ninja 650 turned up with the same issue...I guess you just cant be sure of quality in India anymore...irrespective of the field/industry/level/brand!!!
For future buyers, please take note of this as I couldnt spot this et all while I was taking delivery and I believe the checks mentioned before delivery on various forums too dont mention something as timid and obvious, yet important point.

Keeping the shock aside...things went well and I hope they remain green hereafter...

What lies ahead - other than riding more...got to get my gear (got a HJC & Taichi gloves already) and basic safety kit installed on the bike ASAP (inputs are most welcome).

@Admin - If you can create / move this thread to an ownership thread of Z650, I'd like to make some more contributions to the prospective buyers while also taking inputs from current & experienced riders.

                Till then, Ciao!
