  • Confused between two Royal Enfields.

Hi! I am planning to buy a bike that would last me for about 5years atleast.
    My Considerations are :-
    RE Classic 500
    RE Standard Bullet 500
    Dominar400(alternative)

Which one would be good for me? I would ride more in the city and may be rides of about 200kms 2wice a month.
And one more question is that is the EFI in Classic reliable? If yes than I would go for it.

    Query Approved

Do go through the ownership threads of the bikes and wait for a month (if possible) to see the ownership thread of the Dominar. Test ride all in the meantime.

All the best with the purchase
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Give your details here if you want to help your fellow xBhpian stranded in your city

Ride all of them and then listen to your heart, for city riding dominar is good.

Well, the RE and a Dominar are two VERY different bikes. It comes down to where you are from (previous RE user?), how you ride and what you expect out of a motorcycle (yeh, i know everyone wants a 'reliable' motorcycle and a pretty wife who listens to the husband).

So get a few test rides and see what you like.
The RE's are known to have their fair share of problems, and so do the ktm's (since the dominar is based off the 390 and is a new launch) but I feel the dominar would edge out the RE in terms of equipment level's and maybe even 'reliability'. The dominar is going to be quicker of the two and better handling, so some folks who buy the dominar would ride it hard compared to say the RE.
With basic maintenance and sensible riding, I don't see why they wouldn't last 5 years.

Bajaj Dominar is a better choice in all aspects including the Oomph factor. Believe me Enfields aren't exclusive any more if its a factor for you. Dominar is faster, better, SAFER and generally the winning choice ON PAPER. Having said that, I must emphasize that TAKE TEST RIDES; more than once. It must feel manageable to you. Ride in city and see how you feel. You can't go wrong with any of them.

I agree. Although the new bullets have far less niggles and are generally have come a long way, the Dominar is simply superior.
