  • Bufget: Under 1.1L for Newbie, plz help

    Hello Everyone,

    Personal info,

    Height- 5ft 5in
    Age- 24
    Weight - 60 Kg (thin)
Budget - under 1.1 lakh rs
Intended use - city/ occasional highway
    Usage -20% highway 80% city

I tried Apache 200 but in the test run i while doing U-turn it almost fell twice and my legs at the last minute stopped it from touching ground. I dont know whether its coz I didnt used clutch properly and applied brake or my low weight that I cant handle the bike front weight.
Other option is Hornet 160R. Safety(brake, headlight) and comfort is paramount for me. I know Hornet has poor headlight but I read it can be changed. Please tell me what to do? I have a budget for 1.1L

    Query Approved

Neither your height nor weight was the reason for tipping the bike over. Just balance! As you clock up miles, you will stop worrying about such things
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Give your details here if you want to help your fellow xBhpian stranded in your city

Do consider the gixxer sf/gixxer if you are in that range of money. Handling and refinement is arguably the best in class

Don't always look for power. Look at its ease of usability. Up your budget by 4k and little above lakh rupees can give you a complete package. You can get double disks, grippy tyres, cool looking but not very common motorcycle. Suzuki Gixxer SF Fi is light weight motorcycle with excellent riding comfort and has good grip at front end. Fi will help in cold starts. You can start engine in single press of button even after months of storage.
          +1 for GixxerSF fi

Even I thought of the same but here it's hard to find a suzuki showroom and I was not able to contact them (chennai) and I heard the service is bad. Anyhow I won't be doing long rides just normal within city so I finally decided to just sit with an Aprilia sr 150(yeah yeah I get it, it's not a bike it's a scoot, still). For the price thought it was an awesome performance scoot and I might get it next week. But my initial thought was for gixxer sf only still never mind now ^_^

Yes, the service is also not that good for Suzuki motorcycles in Chennai.
