  • want to buy a new bike - totally confused - Please help!

    Hello All,

I am a new member on X-BHP and this is my 1st post on the forum.
The reason for this post is that I am looking to buy a new bike and I am totally confused on which to buy.
All this while i was totally fixed on buying the Gixxer SF but for some reason, since the last week I am beginning to like the Yamaha R15S and the heart and mind is moving towards the same.
Initially i had kept my budget to 1.10 lakhs due to which I had shortlisted the Gixxer SF and now my heart and mind is moving towards the R15S.
The other bikes which I had shortlisted were:
    1. Gixxer
    2. Yamaha FZ
    3. RTR 200 4V
    4. Hornet 160

The reason for buying the R15S(if at all I buy) is for the single seat(split seat version(v2) rejected by my fiance due to the 2nd floor seating).
Please advice if whether i should go ahead and buy the R15S or go ahead with my initial decision of Gixxer SF.
Also would it make more sense to wait for the R15 v3? Any updates on India launch?
I am planning to tie the knot later this year and wouldn't want to spend more than 1.4lakhs.
Also this bike will mainly be used for my daily office commute and very *rare* weekend touring.
    Please help.

If you are already leaning towards the R15s then go with it. Especially since you have the blessings of your fiance for it You will be a sad man if she isn't a comfortable pillion!

The V3 is 2nd Floor seating again ain't it
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Give your details here if you want to help your fellow xBhpian stranded in your city

Thanks worrisomebear, but not a big fan of the dukes.

However over the weekend my confusion has been increased even more.
The thing is that i was discussing the matter with my elder bro during which he said that he will gift the bike for me, but the catch here is that i should buy a bigger and a better looking bike as he is not that excited with the R15 looks.
So over the weekend i went ahead and test rode the RC 200 and really liked the performance of the bike.

Is the RC200 really worth the extra monnies? The seating posture is the same however my fiance did not like it(again due to the pillion seating. I did take a test ride with her seating as a pillion)
I am all confused now and literally spent my entire weekend plus Monday just doing research between the two.
        Please help

Why don't you take a test ride of the Dominar and see if it strikes a chord with you

RC and R15 are very good bikes in their own right and worth the money. Since you're getting married soon, I assume half of your rides will include your better half as a pillion. In that case I strongly suggest you to stay away from RC 200 as it's not pillion friendly. If pillion of R15s is a 2nd floor seating then RC is more like sitting on a 2nd floor compound wall with nothing proper to hold on to. If I were you, I would avoid R15s and RC200.

My suggestion would be Gixxer, FZ25, and RTR200 in that order.

            Cheers!
