• Hey friends

I'm planning to buy an Yamaha 600 R6 I'm in love with this machine guys and waiting it to be launched in india so as we have other brands like dsk benelli600i,honda cbr650r,housong650,ninja are already in the indian market and it's doing well business I think yamaha should have place the R6 along with the R3 together I hope and desperately waiting them to do so can anyone have any news about it or if so what would be the price and when it would be launch?
Looking forward to discussing about this particular brand!!

Honestly, we would have loved an introduction from you buddy, in the "Who are you?" section first... But you seem to be in a hurry so let's just cut to the chase.

YZF R6 is not launched and there are no concrete signs of it being launched here. So, you can only get an unofficially/ legally imported one, but service and spare parts will be a factor.
As far as R3 is concerned, I think you know its sales figures are now almost 0, due to their lack of marketing or dealer interest or whatever.
So, Yamaha won't be excited launching R6 immediately, right?

Secondly, Triumph Daytona 675 is what you can consider for now, as its launched here and is comparable to the R6..

But, before you choose and buy a bike, I want to put some simple questions to you:-

1. Why do all these bikes you listed make different power outputs despite almost similar 600cc category?
Ninja 650 makes 72 bhp.
CBR 650F makes around 87 or so.
R6 & Daytona make around 123.
Hyosung makes around 70.

2. Secondly, why does Ninja 650 (making 72 bhp) seem very strong in the city bumper to bumper traffic, compared to the R6 which is not so punchy (but it makes 128 bhp)?

3. Thirdly, what is the difference between power and torque?

I want you to find the detailed answer to the above 2 questions, and then you will be smart enough to go ahead and buy the right bike.

.
Samarth sir, zero sales is not true, R3 sales is still decent considering it a CKD bike and off course lack of interest by dealers. 182 owners are there in our whatsapp group only [emoji16].

The new street triple rs will make about 123 bhp and new CBR 650f around 91 bhp, do keep a eye out for these two but there will be a 2-4 lakh difference as triumph is priced significantly higher .

There is only one YZF R3 in my group, but yes, you are right, as the R3 did sell initially, no one can refute that.
I said "almost zero" due to this news:- http://www.**********.com/two-wheele...er-012862.html

And if you talk about practical scenario, the 2016 customer gets 2015 bikes. Its the same guy from my group I mentioned above. Its that bad a situation...

The Dealer isn't least interested in talking about YZF R3. Doesn't have a display/ test unit too. Wants a clear big advance to book the bike, and then only he orders it further. Its a matter of time before this ace bike bites the dust.
At least the R15 got a TV advert, but this 190 kmph monster didn't even get that, sadly.

What a pity indeed.

Majority of owners are from metro cities like Mumbai, pune and Bangalore. In my state itself total 4 R3s are sold ( TD were available) but availability of spare parts is never an issue for us. It all comes with the dealership how it is taking care of their customers.

And regarding that link I don't know how they have calculated it but in our group 2016 manufactured bikes are there.

In last recall total 900 bikes were recalled and now total 1155 bikes are recalled in india which includes some of the 2016 manufactured bikes.

As I said I completely agree that dealers are not showing any interest.

Let's not go Off topic here...

Pradeepadhikari Welcome buddy. Please take some time in understanding each machine's nature. For example, Ninja 650 and R6 are vastly different machines. The former is an inline 2 cylinder, the latter is an inline 4 cylinder.

The former makes good torque while launching the vehicle from a traffic signal or standstill, this makes it a better city bike, enginewise.
R6 will leave behind Ninja 650 on the open road, because it gets mighty accelerating once you accelerate hard and cross the 8000 rpm mark... But in city speeds, its slow.
Its like a tractor vs sportscar.

So, each of the above machines you mentioned have advantages and disadvantages both, plus their pricing and availability in India differs.

If you have specific questions, do post them here... Do let us all know, what you're looking for exactly in a bike?

When it comes to sbk you can't expect it to drive in a city. With great power comes great responsibility. These bikes can easily kill you mate drive safe.Anyways if you enjoy just the weekend rides just go for the Daytona 675.The sound is intoxicating [emoji8]
