  • Bike between 90,000 to 1,20,000

    Hi!

    I am a 6 feet guy, 80kgs. Moderate build.
I used to own Honda Twister and was in love with its city(Mumbai) performance.

Looking to get a new bike in the budget upto 1.20lakh, so here actual budget is 1 lakh can push to max 1.2
Basic requirements include smooth engine, good FE and good looks ..... ABS would be an added advantage..

Daily commute is about 20kms total and ocassinal weekend trips of 200kms

Would be commuting mainly in city, hence need something that can gimme good FE.

Some of the options that I have kept in mind are from TVS

    Suzuki Gixxer SF FI
    apache 160, too many vibrations
apache 180 ABS too many vibrations
    apache 200
    Hornet

Heard lot of vibrations issue with apache 160 and 180 hence considering 200.

For me even 150cc would be good!

    Query Approved

For refinement the 200 or Hornet. Not the 160 and 180. The Hornet might be more comfortable for your height though.

Also check out the NS, the Gixxer 155 and read through the ownership threads of the bikes you shortlist.
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Give your details here if you want to help your fellow xBhpian stranded in your city

RTR 200 will be a good pick, for a 6 foot tall person, it should fit exactly to every inch. ABS version of 200, Not sure if it is going to be available anytime soon. Good city performance vehicle and will definitely fit inside your budget even with the optional Pirelli tires on it.

Take a TD and decide on the fit alone. Rest all are known factors. Good FE, less maintenance hassle, spares are quite cheap.

      Honda Dio - Current
      TNT 600i - Sold
      Classic 500 - Sold
      Pulsar 220 dtsi - Sold

Go either for Hornet or apache 200...i was in same dilemma and bought Hornet as apache 200 was little heavy for me (front side added weight in the bike) made tough for me to do u turn n handling.... Happy with hornet

As for apache,TVS have a good ASC.I used to own an rtr180.And spares are also cheap for TVS brands.
But they give vibrations when driven at greater rpms.
If you are the power-liking guy, then go for the new updated pulsar 200 ns laser edge version.(the ns is a correct fit for your height).
Hornet is too a wonderful machine but i would recommend apache 200 and ns 200

            Wow!!!
            So many responses, so fast!

Well, so now i guess they main players in the field are ns200, rtr 200v and hornet....

So how much mileage do these bikes offer on road.......
And from what i have read seems TVS is easier in maintenance compared to bajaj and honda and doesnt have vibrations issses at all

                +1 for RTR200 and NS200.
Both will suit your build and height.
The RTR is getting good reviews from the owners, I would suggest to wait for a few months for NS200, so that initial niggles are ironed out.
Take test rides for both and choose the one that suits you the best.
I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

                    Yes.
                    Perfect choice.
Make sure being 6feet you are comfortable with the overall riders space and riding position.

                    Best of luck mate.
                    Cheers .

                      +1 for RTR 200 & NS 200.
Both the bikes are easy on pocket, spares are easily available.
Both the bike will give you 35-37 in city and around 40 on highway.
Go for a test drive and decide.

Did you try the Gixxer SF or NS 200 also? Were they also heavy, as you mentioned for the RTR?

                          Hey,
I am 6", and people are suggesting me NS 200, thanks to my height. I have my heart on the RTR, thanks to it's superior suspension and ballistic mid-range. So is RTR fine for my height? Can the gear shifter be lowered?
