  • Which four stroke Bike?.

    Hi all,
This my first post in query thread. been to community for the first time yesterday and read what byke section and ownership experience completely non stop for 5 hrs. but still confused.

been riding RX-135 from past 10yrs and decided to change this legend for alternative 4 stroke.

please help me choose. my heart n mind both confused. my requirements are daily 55kms in an average commutation to my office. no highway riding. i want a genuine replacement for my RX. so the average mielage should b around 40 to 45kms. and bike should to tough to handle my every day rides in a good road 90% and 10% bad roads. planning to use this bike for another 5 to 6 yrs...

    this bikes i considered was:
FZ - after reading the views and checkin the bangy on road price im kinda very much biased. 150 cc bike for 77k (FZs) is big no no if it not perfoming well..

ZMA... though its a good bike with proven on indian roads, but only concern here is mileage and same ZMA with cosmetic changes. what if the bike discontinued in another 2 yrs or so.

After reading numerous threads and applauds for apache rtr Fi im more inclined towards this bike. but since im 6 ft tall and weighing around 82 kgs will this bike suit me for daily commutation. kindly help me as im in lot of dilema. please suggest any other suitable bike which u think will suit my requirements as i have no xperience in buyin new age bikes. i know there has been lot of queries but since im totally confused, will be of great help expert pour in there knowledge here.

    thanks
    TorQ...
    ride safe.

Why don't you consider Pulsar 220 also? it's a great bike with decent handling characteristics, decent mileage 40-45kmpl, looks good too and has very comfortable riding posture, it's big too considering your height and weight.

If City Commuting is your need, You should consider Unicorn. Bikers around India still love the Unicorn as a great city bike.

It's 150cc & You can get it for some 61k on road (approx), and it returns 45-55 kmpl.

Reg. FZ, it had to be costly due to the Monoshock, large tyres, etc. But, it's handling and grip is very good, for city conditions.

But remember, nothing out of these bikes can be compared to RX 135 in NM's & bhp's...

My friend is also 6 feet&is very comfy on the RTR. It would be a good choice for zipping around in city traffic.
Else you could wait for the RTR 180, but dimensions will be similar to the existing RTR.
          Quench my thirst with gasoline!

thanx for valuable suggestion.. i'm little bit considering look.. no doubt unicron being good bike but kinda not matchin my xpectation.

regarding pulsar 220 i heard the mileage is less. please clarify .. more over knidly let me know the approx cost in bangalore.. it will be of great help.

            now im updating my list.

priority 1: apache RTR160 Fi. (if the dimension is almost same i would not spend xtra buck for cosmetic changes and 20 cc improvement). i will very well consider 160 fi.

priority 2: FZ. though kinda heavy on pocket i may consider this. but main concern is whether this bike wil be the same performer after may b after 3 yrs. If P220 comes in this bracket of FZ around 80k in bangalore then i might very well consider this. what about mileage in 220. pl clarify.

If its not urgent then i'll suggest you to rather wait for the Apache 180, and as far as suiting your build goes...you drove the rx,right? so if you can ride on that just dont worry about it...otherwise go for the FZ...its really good for city commuting..

Just now called TVS showroom.. and yamaha showroom.. FZs in bangy vil cost me around 77.5k on road and FZ fi will cost me around 75k with rear disc brakes.

so i might get it concluded to Apache RTR fi..

in apache the problem is they dont have black.. orange, yellow n some dusky grey it seems.

i have decided on rtr160 FI.. kindly let me know whether dusky grey vil suit me.

Matte grey looks real sexy and the dull finish gives it a unique look... Yellow FI looks awesome too.

You are considering a zma and not a p220 citing p220s milege to be lesser....

Anyways, considering your requirements I would recommend the p200...

superb bike, mileges are reported to b above 38-40kmpl normaly

astounding looks, awesome power delivery and lovely torque

I feel you being 82kgs would look awkward on the apache

Test ride all, and decide your own comfort level withe all the bikes...

If you finalize on Apache RTR/Fi, grey is the best color-no other bike has it&it looks very exclusive! My personal favorite-I had asked my friend to buy it, but he bought black, now he is regretting whenever he sees a grey RTR on road!

waiting continues after bookin my baby....

                          Hi All,
After reading numerous posts and queries finally booked my bike from megadooth motors trinity circle bangalore for RTR Fi (graphite grey) .. all cash. registration is on monday.. after booking the first thing im doing is updating xbhp .. how can i forget so many knowledgeable people who helped me select two wheeler....

i would take an oppurtunity to thank everyone in this forum for giving valuable advise. bike comes on road price of 74737/- only .

Staff were very courteous. they had 2 bikes.. they showed me one and its front headlamp had small scratch... they said they vil replace it ... i said big no to them. then they took me to parking lot where for my luck only one grey bike had come.they unloaded from the transport. took directly to garage n removed covers n showed me the bike. rest all orange n yellows. finally they alloted me that bike. documentation was smooth,,, have asked them to put seat cover and do teflon coating.
thanks once again for suggestions. will update inital ownership and my experience with my baby..

Bro as you travel about 50 kns daily than i suppose suzuki GS150R will surely do for you..with 6th cog it will return a descent mileage of 50 km/ltr or so..or if you wanna have the same Yam power then surely Yam Gladiator would do the job..top speed claimed 112km/hr but actual 108km/hr..aveage mileage would be around 45-50...hope this helps you
