  • Which bike?? Confused

    Hello fellow members of xbhp..

This is my first post in the forum.. Actually I am currently owning a Fz-s and want to switch to a higher cc bike.. Some names in my list is R3,duke 390,rc390.. but they all have some problem or the other..

R3: stock tyres are not capable of the bikes true power and it lacks ABS being a 42 ps 300cc bike..

Rc/duke 390: these are actually the best in their class but the problem with them is engine refinement and overheating issue..

What do you suggest mates? Which one should I go for??
My drives will be in city only mostly.. .

Should i go for any one of them or should i wait for some other bike that is about to lunch in this segment..

    Waiting for your valuable suggestions..

    Thanks..

    Query Approved

    Tyres can be replaced.

ABS. Well braking can be learnt.

Refinement. Can be gotten used to!
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Give your details here if you want to help your fellow xBhpian stranded in your city

Mate, welcome to the forum. In the above post Monk has spoken like a monk.

Please don't get me wrong here and I'm by no means deterring you but I would like to understand more. Don't you think the bikes that you've mentioned are a bit overkill for city runs? Any 300+ CC bike will heat considerably in traffic and the braking capabilities tend to pose a problem only at speeds which are illegal in our cities.

Also have you considered the FZ25? Or the Duke250 perhaps?

      Cheers!

Thanks for your valuable suggestions. No disrespect but thing is I am keen on buying a 300+ cc bike. So if u were to compromise then which drawback would you compromise with and which bike would you suggest. And what do you say about the upcoming bikes like akula or g310r? Is it worth waiting for?

You are complaining about quality of tires and lack of ABS...hell my 600 cc didnt have brakes in the first place.

My choice would be the Duke 390 2017. a complete VFM. For city usage , it is the best buy.

Cool then, we'll if I were you I'll strike off the RC390 from the list for it's the least comfortable among the lot. Any reason for not including the Dominar ABS?

Given the options of 300+CC bikes, if I were to compromise on things and pick one right now then it will be the D390 hands down. I don't mind compromising on engine heating as almost every 300 CC bike will heat a bit in traffic. The engine refinement is next one I'll compromise. I don't think there's any other product that's VFM as the D390 is in the 300+ category.

I suggest that you wait for one or two months at the max. Let's see whether the 2017 R3, release slated some time in June, has an optional ABS. Meanwhile we'll also see what the G310r/Apache RR 310s has to offer. Though from the pics I reckon that the seating is too committed in G310r, I'm not judging anything unless it rolls out. So yeah, it's better to wait now than to pick one now and regret later.

            Cheers!
