    gixxer sf (or) ns 200 (or) rtr 200.. confused

    hi bhpians..actually I am very much satisfied with gixxer after a test drive and reading lots of reviews.my main concerns are reliability(should with stand 5+years of course with fair maintenance) , seating comfort(sometimes family members sit single side, for which gixxer pillion is a bit bad ),refined engine (after a decade splendor got vibrating a lot and i don't likely on my new bike), hassle free ownership, little generous mileage and of course fun to ride (im just 21[emoji28] [emoji16] ).
    I have been riding my dads splendor for nearly a decade so needed some power and fun on my own bike.just in the verge of buying gixxer/sf hearing a lot about ns performance, actually I am not a great fan of bajaj and tvs because of[emoji57] vibrations and fit and finish, at the same time i don't want to be feeling underpowered in a year or two....

    so guys i want help in deciding between gixxer, rtr 200 ( mainly for its abs and heared they reduced vibrations.. want to know can it with stand against gixxer's refinement ), p200 ns(for its torque and power.. still refinement and seating comfort for both rider and passenger is MOST concerned relative to this segment)
    need some quotes on these three companies after sales services..

    Both the new RTR 200 and NS 200 are more refined than the previous iterations. Test ride all three and see for yourself. Pillion seats aren't fantastic on any of the three.
    Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

      All three bikes that you've mentioned are good in their own rights. Some more info would be helpful; What's your budget? What is your usage pattern? By how much can you extend your budget?

        [emoji117] budget not an issue unless it exceeds 1.5 lakhs.. vfm is apreciable
        [emoji117] daily usage of 3<kms and occasionally(once a week) 60+kms highway ride.. road condition roads with a good number of path holes, not so cities town around madurai

              That's cool mate. Well if 1.5 lakhs is your budget, there are 2 bikes that come to my mind. As monk said, pillion seats are just a formality in all the three bikes you've mentioned.

              1. The FZ 25

              - Powerful, compared with the others mentioned in your list.
              - Though it has split seats, the pillion seats are more comfortable compared with that of the other three bikes in your list.
              - "Hopefully reliable" as it's coming from Yammy.
              - Commendable fuel efficiency for a quarter litre bike.

              2. The Yamaha R15S
              - Though it's dated it's still "the" Stylish 150cc fully faired bike.
              - Excellent handling
              - Good power figures for a 150CC bike.
              - Proven engine that's capable of lasting more than 1 lakh KMs.
              - Usable pillion seat.
              - Excellent fit and finish
              - Though it's pricer than other 150cc bikes and even most of 200 cc bikes, it does justice to the price.

              I think if you bring the FZ25 into the picture, then other bikes start making less sense for your requirement/budget unless you're nitpicking.

                r15 a great bike, but the sitting position and high pillion seats don't fit for me...

                fz25 man you made desciding more tougher lol, i know fz seats are wide but isn't it on hard side and 40-45kmpl??

                  I don't know if it was just me, but I found the riding position of R15S little upright compared with that of the R15V2. Also the pillion seat of R15S is very usable and not tall. So I suggest you take a TD before striking off.

                  FZ's seats are not on the harder side. As you said, they're wide and comfortable too. If I'm not wrong, only 150CCs will give a mileage of above 40kmpl. A friend of mine has a RTR and it returns something around 32- 34kmpl in city and around 38 in highways. The FZ25 too will give such a mileage and in some cases(internet knowledge) it has even returned something more than 40kmpl on highways. In my ride of close to 150KMs on highways, the FZ25 gave a mileage of 39-40 kmpl.

                  I know mileage is a crucial factor but I would like to reinforce that fuel overhead will not be much of a difference between a bike returning 40kmpl and one returning 30kmpl. If you do the math, the price difference will be between 20k to 30k for distance 50k KMS. So if you achieve the 50k mark in 5 years, the extra price you'll be paying for a bike returning 30kmpl will be between 4k to 6k per year. So look at what you'll be missing should you decide to go with a lower powered bike and decide whether the extra 4k/year is worth what you're missing.
