  • Which one next! After the Yamaha FZ16

I'm currently having an Yamaha FZ16 with a 15k clocked on it. Happy with that one and never planning to sell it cause some mental connection with it. But after using it for 10 months i have learned that it is an outdated machine which is still better in its segment ( In my view). Now coming to the point now I'm going to buy another one for my thrills. Currently having near 2 lakh budget. Which one to go for?

      1. 2 Lakhs
      2. 19
      3. 5.10
      4. 75
      5. Touring
      6. 30+
      7. 50/50
      8. Less than 1k
      9. Suburban ( Highways, twisty raods)
      10. 150+cc Anything except TVS. Naked/Faired
I like the Japs. Handling that matches the performance. I'm not selling my current machine so FE will not be a problem. Also considering used once.

Should i go for it or the FZ25. I'm always tempted by the Yamaha's black motorcycles. One of my friend booked it. It'll be delivered soon. I'll take a pick after riding both of them.

            Hey..

Firstly i personally use fzs battle green so i know that its very normal to think of an upgrade to yamaha fz25 only. But my friend i have olready driven 25 few times because my friends have bought it in march only when it got launched.

Now if you keep your bike serviced and everything then i must tell you that you wont be feeling a hell lot of difference between the two. Top speed is limited and the pickup is also decent not that increased because its only 20bhp.. Only major difference is body line and exhaust sound..

So if you are thinking of an upgrade then you should go for a bike which will make you feel that you have upgraded.. If you want 250 cc, then i strongly suggest go for duke..

But all said if you have a soft corner for any bike then all this talk meams nothing and you will go with your heart only..

Best of luck.. And let us know what did you decide..

One of my college mate already have one. Today i inspected it and found that the Front Stump is the same and disc are also the same like the fz. I think it is not enough to stop something like the FZ25.

Yeah i had a soft corner for the FZ25 cause I'm impressed in Yamahas product such as the R3 and everything below it. I have driven R3 for a few Kms. Its a great machine but my budget need to be more bigger to afford it. I didn't test drive the Duke 250 till date. I'll go for a TD and make sure. It suits me.

Hey mate, as an owner of FZ25, I can tell you this; though the stopping power of FZ25 is not upto the mark, the brakes give a good feedback. So if one is driving in a sane manner, braking shouldn't be a problem at all in FZ25. The brakes lack bite but the feedback is good. Bringing Duke 250 into the picture, we all have our reasons so if you have reasons to justify the price difference of 70k with the FZ25, go for Duke 250. If I were you, I wouldn't choose either.

Since you've already decided to keep your FZ16, I suggest you take a serious look at the Dominar. As suggested by Devarshi, FZ25/Duke 250 will not make a big difference. Given your requirement, it makes less sense to buy FZ25/Duke 250 only as a touring machine. Dominar makes a lot of sense for touring for it offers more power and ABS at an unmatched price. You can invest the amount saved on good riding/touring gears!

                Cheers!
