    b. You may apply the most"scientific" of all processes but its ultimately subjective. If he has no constraints, going by gut is cool. And like another guy posted, factoring in the gf's perspective ain't bad either And its not like one bike is right, while another is wrong.

And btw, its not being harsh - its practical
peace. I should have sprinkled a simley or two in my earlier post. Of what I have seen of hit-e-shoe over the past 4 years in this forum, the sense of humor was expected to say the least. I have had a hearty laugh myself. Practical ... yeah right !!!

Felt that two page loads of humor may not have served the purpose. Thought a course correction was much needed. Anyway... this wanderer, atleast, looks like he is lost.

I dont even have a license yet ( will turn 18 in July ) , so I have very meagre knowledge about bikes. I have ridden a Karizma , pulsar 220 and thats the end of my biking aptitude .
      I am considering a CRUISER motorcycle , esp . Royal Enfield's Machismo 500 ,
budget has no limits , I have heard ( as well as read on internet ) that oil leakages and vibrations are very common to Mach 500 and also that it requires high maintenance .
This would be my first bike and I want to make it special , also I would be using it for 3-4 yrs , after that I will no longer be in India .
Prices dont matter , mileage dont matter either.
      Every opinion counts.
      Thanks in advance .
      Cheers!!!!!!!
Before any more confusion is created, I suggest you to clarify what you mean by prices don't matter. Can you afford a 12 lac bike? But before you answer that question, I would not recommend any SBK or heavyweight cruisers (Intruders etc etc). Simple reason being, as you said yourself, you don't have enough biking aptitude and experience for those machines.

That being said, I'd rather suggest you actually consider the prospects of buying a Machismo. It is a beaut of a machine. The newer ones do not require as much maintenance as the older ones. I do suggest you being thorough with basic riding tips of Bullets though before buying. They are to be handled differently than a 220 or a ZMA.

I rode an Avenger, but not with a windshield. But wouldn't the windshield help in deflecting atleast some of the air partially?
Anyways, need to try out one with a windshield once.
Otherwise, the bike as such is still not a bad choice for the kid, ain't it?

lol, this thread for a moment reminds me of a thread on teambhp regarding Car audio where the poster first said no budget - junta went berserk and sheepishly next day we hear 20k is the budget (which is a starter budget on teambhp!).

I hope that's not the case here

Since budget is no constraint + little experience and you want a cruiser. Just get an Avenger for more experience, then go big time.. 500cc 1000cc whatever.
