  • Upgrade from a Pulsar AS200

Hi all! I'm looking for an upgrade from a Bajaj Pulsar AS200. I'm going to keep this short:

    1. Budget - Up to 2 lakh, give or take 20k
    2. Age - 27
    5. Usage - Office/College commute, Highway runs, Long-distance riding
    6. Fuel Efficiency requirement: None whatsoever
    7. City & Highway percentage usage: I find myself in the highways more often than not
    8. Approximate Daily running: 50km and above
    9. City: Mumbai & Navi Mumbai
    10. Brand / Bike type preference (if any): Naked, components are easily accessible for some self-service, parts are easily accessible, quickly and easily reparable by most servicemen. (price of service or frequency of service is not a criteria; I'm talking about quality of service/parts here).

I hope you guys got what I want. If not, please do ask me questions for clarification. I'll be checking in frequently. Looking to make the purchase soon. Thanks!

Mojo if you like touring! DUKE 250 if you need hooliganism! 😉

Mojo seems fine, but will it meet this requirement?

" components are easily accessible by me for some self-service, parts are easily accessible, quickly and easily reparable by most servicemen. "

I'd prefer to go for a Yamaha FZ25 over a Duke 250 if a 250cc is what I want. But 250cc would not be much of an upgrade.

Can anyone shine a spotlight on the Dominar? Especially with respect to the above requirement?

What about the Thunderbird 350 or 500? or any other Enfield?

I'm not against RE but I would like to know whether you're fully aware of RE's reliability before bringing it into the equation. Excluding RE for now and looking at the bikes that are available within your budget while suiting your requirements, bikes that come to my mind are these : Dominar, FZ25, Duke 250, Mojo, and Benelli TNT25.

I assume FZ25 it will be, should you choose a 250CC bike.

Moving to the higher capacity ones, the battle will be between the Mojo and Dominar. Since both bikes are different in their DNA, it makes it easy to choose one. If I were you, I would pick the Dominar over the Mojo. Rationale: Dominar has ABS, powerful than Mojo, lower price, more SVCs, cheaper parts, cheaper service bills, and better FE despite being comparatively powerful.

          Cheers!

Dominar is the best under 2lakh .
            Naked, spare parts easily available,cheaper..
I think Dominar is the perfect upgrade for you.
