    Query Approved

The Himalayan is not for sale currently from what i have heard.
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Give your details here if you want to help your fellow xBhpian stranded in your city

If you aren't a fanboy of RE, then I suggest you pick the Dominar eyes closed. I've heard enough horro stories about Himalayan and its maintenance. So if I were you, I wouldn't gamble and will stay away from RE.

        Cheers!

Himalayan should not even be in consideration, my friend, if you are following the Himalayan thread and disappointing pieces of information floating around on this motorcycle.
It should be Dominar 400 all the way.

I have heard bad things about bajaj that they dont work fine when they get old. After 40k engine sound is very bad. Is it true?

Can someone please explain the concept of slipper clutch to me.

I was considering himalyan because of off road capability. As i live in punjab jalandhar and i travel to himalchal every week for breakfast ride. Will dominar be working fine?

Check out xBhp ride to Spiti.

I think this should put all your doubts to rest about Dominar's capabilities in tough terrains.

PS: I don't own a Dominar. But I am really impressed with this motorcycle. I had very high expectations from Himalayan with the way it was promoted as an adventurer. But many instances of Himalayan breaking down during the same adventures is a pity.

Even I've heard from the internet and from few others in person that Bajaj engines don't last longer and the sound differs after 40k or so. I've also heard that Bajaj's engines have advanced and it's not the same case anymore. There are many reports of Bajaj bikes easily crossing 1 lakhs KMs. So fellow owners will be in a better position to answer this question.

Adding to the Dominar's off-road capablities, you can view this guy's YouTube channel to see how Dominar has performed in Leh-Ladakh circuit.

Since you've mentioned that you need An Upgrade to your P220, Dominar would be the best choice. and will tick all the boxes in our list.

I own a H. And I am not a RE fan boy. It has it's own pros and cons.
Only thing I would say is ride both D400 and H (The FI version is to supposed to come out by month end or next month), then decide which you want to buy. If possible rent it, and take it for a spin.

If you are in a hurry to buy, then I would highly recommend you go for D400, as I am not sure how the FI version would come out.

Cheers! Let me know if you have further queries

Then rent the bike for a day and take it for a ride. Spending 1000 for a day is way better than spending 2L on a bike you don't enjoy riding

Himalayan is a great bike.. lot of capabilities..
And dominar out shines himu on certain parameters including the outright power delivery nd tech-laiden features..

                              But on ground...
If u put both of them head to head in a track with lot of hurdles nd busy city route as well Himalayan will be emerging as a clear winner...
But put it in a race track , Dominar
                              dominates...

                              And wait for a month...

Check the FI version of RE Himalayan ...
I'm sure RE is taking the customer reviews nd feedback seriously and the new boy will be much better in quality nd power delivery..
