  • Help me upgrade to second bike.

23 y.o, 5'10" 70kgs. Just got a job so budget not really a problem but have to travel ~90 kms daily so mileage around 40-45 would be desirable. I've ridden Splendor plus for years and want a proper upgrade. My primary concern is reliability and durability. I'm not a speed-stunt maniac. Pillion comfort is not to be neglected. All in all looking for a value for money product. Primarily confused among gixxer sf, hornet, RTR180 abs, NS 160 etc. Please help me with a suitable option ( you can also suggest irrespective of the options I've considered. )
    Thanks in advance.
P.S.- I think now I am confused between NS 160 and Hornet. Help ne eliminate one out of two.

    Query Approved

Pillion comfort, probably with the Hornet and FZ? Unicorn for the win though.
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Give your details here if you want to help your fellow xBhpian stranded in your city

May be an underrated machine - SZ-RR. Check out from owners. You should not be disappointed.

Man plz check hornet... I own one... Good power too... Pillion comfort is way better than gixxer... Also you being 5'10" wouldn't have any problem as i myself am 5'10"... For highway use it's very planted... Best in class brakes with nissin 3 pot caliper up front.. Also during run in period when i was diving very sanely got 54-55 average... One time when i was totally doing redlining got average of 42... Between regular driving(i drive fast) i get 48-50.... All these calculations were done using tank to tank method...
Though the suspension is hard but it gives good handling... I have softened it at service center with cbr 250r tool...
The bike is brilliant... Only negative gripe is headlight.... Very bad... Also it's AC... But i got it changed as pass switch is DC wired... The mechanic connected it from pass to headlight... I got led headlight... You can use RTD led headlight... Or you can order from china.. Mine costed 900 rs including shipping...
        Hope this helps..

Thanks for fullfull explanation about mileage. Needed that. Thank you very much.
Hornet and NS 160 have been on my cards as of now.

Re: Help me upgrade to second bike.

You rejected gixxer and kept ns160 in your list?
Just drop the bajaj crap-cycle from your list already. It's totally for sports-adrenaline induced stunt freaks! I have owned and ridden all of the bajaj cycles, they will need another 60 years of R&D to rival the yamaha, suzuki and Honda motorcycles of today! And bajaj servicing is pathetic, I have lived in many cities, everywhere they recruit illiterate monkeys, who can't differentiate engine from a gearbox. You want a sane, comfortable motorcycle, you can compare gixxer and hornet.

First take a test drive of hornet then goto the suzuki showroom. I think you will instantly fall in love with the hornet, the above hornet owner perfectly explains the advantages of from your point of view. Both rider & Pillion comfort is maximum, I would say it's the best in 150cc and above category. And the hornet's 3 calliper piston front brake is a plain winner in terms of braking. Don't even think about the bajaj cycles, hell you can even buy a TVS or Hero motorcycle for what it's worth but not bajaj!
