  • Bike suggestion for casual use and maybe solo trips

    Hello Everyone,

Need a bike suggestion for daily use and I am thinking of going on solo trips starting with small in town 100Km to big one once I have confidence and I can understand my new bike. I still do not know if I can go on trips but I really want to go and keep pushing myself to do it. Maybe once I have the bike I will surely go

I have done a test drive on Gixxer naked version and I really liked it, good pickup and speed in the budget range. I think it is better than Fz (tried my friend Fz)
    Liked the handling as well.

    1. Budget : <1.5 L
    2. Age: 27
    3. Height: 5'3"
    4. Weight: 73
    5. Intended usage (eg. Office/College commute, Highway runs, Racetrack usage, Weekend recreation riding etc.) : Local usage going to market and gym + Solo trips in near future
    6. Fuel Efficiency requirement (approx., if any) : Good
    7. City & Highway percentage usage: 70% / 30%
    8. Approximate Daily / Monthly running: If I do not go on trip then monthly usage will be around 200Km.
    9. City / Town /Village of residence (so we can evaluate road conditions / traffic / terrain / altitude / OTR pricing): Greater Noida / Uttar Pradesh
    10. Brand / Bike type preference (if any): Any

    Thank You

You have lot many bikes inside the Budget range you have.
Rather than the Gixxer, I would suggest the Gixxer SF, if you want to later use it for Touring.
Otherwise please take a look at the list of bikes which might suite you and also under your budget limit 1.5L
      1. NS 200 or Apache RTR 200 or the FZ 25, all three nakeds and seat height of 790 to 805 mm range. With FZ25 on road being on the Far end of your budget.

Yes I will go for Suzuki Gixxer SF and I am trying to avoid 250CC bike as it will give very low mileage. And I like speed and more the power more risky
And Bajaj bike has lot of problem so no pulsar

Since you don't want to use Bajaj products and 250CC bikes, you can have a look at
          1. Fz150
          2. Apache RTR 180
          3. Suzuki Gixxer
          4. Honda Hornet
And if you like faired bikes yuh can have a look at
          1. Yamaha R15
          2. Gixxer SF

R15 is a tested and proved bike, since you are going to use 200kms for a month. It will be good and the handling is superior in city rides.
If you don't want to stress yourself you can go for GixxerSF. ABS model is on the way for 2017 Suzuki Gixxer SF. The brochures have been leaked. There is a possibility that it will be launched within 2 months.

RTR 200 and NS 200 with FZ 25 all give almost the same FE, Infact FZ 25 trumps in the FE giving close 35-40 in city. Nothing is risky unless you know to tame it meaning sane riding, even a 100cc can prove to be Fatal at any speeds more than 50kmph.

You can go for the SF FI if you wish stay in 150cc segment with better contained power and you can save some amount to get yourself some good quality safety gear.
I came across your post on another thread about SF FI is advanced. I would say that FI are there in many other bikes and nowadays the mechanics are trained enough to work on it, Only thing its bit complicated for laymen like us to play with FI like we used to do it on carburetor bikes.

Correct, I have been in many accidents with my LML Freedom 110CC bike

FI looks an advanced tech and the mechanics do not know how to handle it. Read lot of reviews on Suzuki FB page and many users are reporting problem after service. Yes it can be the particular users who handle it carelessly. Maybe some service center who hire cheap mechanics?
I do like full faired bike and really want to get one. Lot of options which is confusing me.
