  • Between Hornet & Fz v2, regarding long ride comfort & fuel Efenechtyd

As mentioned, I need a bike for daily 100 kms commute (75% highway 25% city). I want mileage of minimum 40 kmpl. Currently confused between classic 350 & Hornet, open to other options as well. Help me select my bike. I do not go beyond 80kmph.

Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Give your details here if you want to help your fellow xBhpian stranded in your city

I've been riding a splendor for years, I'm not a speedster. As mentioned, I don't want to go beyond 80 kmph. I'm 5'9" around 73-75 kgs, 23 yrs old, looking for an upgrade to a bike. Budget ain't really a constraint unless I'm getting a value for money product I can rely upon for 4-5 years.

        Hi...

I can suggest you few bikes which are in my mind but while finalizing your bike please take long test ride...

        1. Gixxer SF FI

Stunning looks(except mirrors), decent mileage, you will get 40kmpl above, you can use it for tourer..But Pillion comfort is less...

        2.RTR 200

Good looking, rev happy engine, mileage around 35kmpl

        3. R15 s

It's a legendary bike but riding posture is bit different from the above mentioned bikes...

        4. Classic 350

this bike has really royal looks and good road presence but to get this you need to sacrifice lot of things...

There is no rear disk break, no tubeless tires, no fuel indicator, vibrations, high maintenance, very low ground clearence..

If you are ok with all these you can go for 350.. i too love the looks and road presence of the bike but after considering all above drawbacks i changed my mind...

You can also consider ns200, fz25...

Finally if mileage is important do test ride and go for Gixxer sf fi.. check for ABS variant.. i heard some news about abs version to be released in coming months...

I will suggest you by three options.
          A. Faired bike
          B. Naked bike
          C. Pillion comfort
          D. Mileage

          A. Gixxer SF,R15S
          ---------------------------------------------------
          B. FZ25, Gixxer RTR200,NS200,Pulsar150
          ---------------------------------------------------
          C. FZ25 , Gixxer SF, R15S, Pulsar
          ---------------------------------------------------
          D. R15S, Gixxer SF, Pulsar

Choose best by your preference. . . .

          All the best . . .

            Re: Daily 100 kms commuter.

            My suggestions would be

            Pulsar 160
Pros: A Good Commuter with 40+ mileage and bike with more weight could save you on wind blasts on highways from overtaking cars
Cons: Compared to competitors no rear disc brake and smaller tyres(width).

            RTR 200
Stylish, more powerful, 40+ KMPL is on cards too.

            Honda Hornet and Suzuki Gixxer
with good power and comfortable seating position with dual discs and wider tyres. Can achieve more than 45KMPL with these machines.

            Gixxer SF
A faired machine good for wind resistance. Again mated with Dual discs and Can achieve more than 45KMPL.
(Rumor is that Gixxer is going to equipped with ABS am not sure how far it's true)

You can also test drive RTR 160 and RTR 180 if you like it.
Also if you have more time then you can wait for New RTR with 160/180cc.

Before Buying Test drive all the bikes so as to get a clear picture.
            Apache RTR 180 (The Valentine) 2012 - 2016
            RC 200 (The GRUNTER) 2016 - 2016
            CBR 250R (F.R.I.D.A.Y) 2017 - Present
