  • Vespa?

    hello bros,

looking for a "all round" scooter for home that me - 6ft and my dad can use, if possible mom - I doubt, but yeah.
so I am thinking Vespa that costs almost double of what other scooters cost.

    my queries:

    - mileage
    - ride quality
    - durability
    - maintenance cost - how much per paid service etc
    - anything I need to keep in mind

    - any good alternative scooter?

    ruled out :
Mahindra - might exit 2 wheeler market
Activas - too common, didn't like the suspension
Hero - heard bad customer support after sales

how is the Honda Aviator? the above queries still apply to it, I'm not able to find much outside on the internet, so thought I'll ask you guys here.

live long.. live happy.. that's the best revenge that can be served to the people who hate you..

TVS is high on maintenance right? saw that Hero offers better stuff for the same price..

Can the new Hero Maestro Edge dethrone the TVS Jupiter from the top as our pick of being the best 110cc scooter on sale in the Indian two-wheeler market? Read on to get then answer..

read that article & came to the conclusion that I made...

I am 6 ft 1 n 120 kgs. Have been riding a fascino for 2 years now without any issue. Quality of the vehicle is exemplary with no rattles or squeaks till date despite running on the worst possible roads.

This is the first time anyone has said that TVS scoots are high on maintenance. Check with a few owners maybe on the ownership thread. The conclusion in the article that you linked states that the Jupiter is better VFM compared to the Maestro.

thanks fellas... yes, I did test rode the vespa today - felt that it's not worth the premium.. I'll take the yamaha for a spin, it's closer to my place, the TVS also, if I find time it's near my office.. and the Honda, it's little farther from my home.. will keep you updated..

not sure, but I felt these vehicles (150cc vespa!!!) very underpowered, like it was struggling to pull.. is it normal for me to feel that coz I'm jumping from a 25bhp to a 11 bhp vehicle...?

Man you should test drive Aprilia sr150...
It's a great scooter... Very light... Had good brakes... Bigger tires and a more peppier engine...
Also it's cheaper than Vespa 150 by quite a margin...

true, but utility wise - nah, coz it should be usable by my dad also.. so there you go, I need a plain scooter that isn't activa..

Best practical scooter according to me-
                          1.Suzuki Access 125.
                          2. TVS Jupiter.

Well, all scooters are having similar maintenance cost now a days. The TVS has actually very less maintenance cost against your prejudice. my Jupiter is 2 years and 9 month-33K kms- Rock solid.

thanks, test rode the activa 4g yesterday, there's like a LOT of lag when the throttle was twisted & the engine revved up.. I think I'll try the 125cc one & the aviator..

I guess I'm very used to the responsiveness of my KTM & the power that I'm not able to adjust to the scoots??

people said the access 125 has power, but no mileage, 40 -45 is enough for me..

TVS Jupiter also a lot them are saying is amazing, I'll test the Jupiter out today if possible..

I am also considering a scooter, not sure if I should dive into the 2nd hand market or get a new activa 125 or Access 125
