Agreed Dominar is technologically more advanced and powerful than the Avenger 220 ( the newer model) but when average cruising speed is between 60-80 km/hr , what would you choose between the two ? And , if you have both of them , what would you choose over long tours without pillion ?

Avenger 220 or Dominar
Dear Fellow Riders ,
Agreed Dominar is technologically more advanced and powerful than the Avenger 220 ( the newer model) but when average cruising speed is between 60-80 km/hr , what would you choose between the two ? And , if you have both of them , what would you choose over long tours without pillion ?Tags: None

Re: Avenger 220 or Dominar
Query Approved
If you are going to ride that slow, then the Avenger will do the job and probably give you a better fuel efficiency as well.
The Dominar is far superior to the Avenger and cannot really be compared in any regard.Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!
Give your details here if you want to help your fellow xBhpian stranded in your city

Re: Avenger 220 or Dominar
If you are never going to do triple digit speeds, then there is no point spending extra money on a powerful bike. Remember a powerful and technologically advanced bike is not only expensive initially, but the ownership along the years is expensive as well. The fuel cost, the service, the spare parts, the repair cost if you crash, the huge array of sensors that monitor the health of the bike and all the bells and whistles cost a lot money if they fail in future.
The ABS, liquid cooling etc etc make a lot of sense when you have to ride hard and fast. They keep you and the bike safe. But since you ride at 60-80, a Dominar would be an overkill.
So considering that you will ride sedately and cruise comfortably, the Avenger makes more sense. It is cheap to buy and cheaper to own than the Dominar.Last edited by Ankey; 09-21-2017, 04:36 PM.I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

Re: Avenger 220 or Dominar
Thanks and sorry friends for being late to notice and reply ! I thought this thread has not been approved
Agreed , Dominar is more powerful , can touch triple digit speed and is exhilarating to ride on the highways . But there few roads with less traffic , where one can cruise at such high speeds for prolonged period of time , not in Bengal perhaps . Dominar has been branded as a power tourer while the avenger has been branded as "FLG" because of the riding comfort .
I have done two 500 km trips with my Dominar . My right wrist was paining . I wore a slightly padded gloves in my second tour , that just delayed the onset of pain . I mostly remained within 70-80 as the bike is new and within 2000 km . For whatever reasons may be , either the weight of the bike or vibrations on the handle bar , because of the prolonged compression on the wrist area , general pain on the wrist and numbness of the thumb crept in . In order to manage , I shook my hands and stretched my fingers while riding .
So , I asked , if you have both Dominar and Avenger , what would you pick for long tours ? Please suggest ways to alleviate throttle wrist pain .. handle bar risers , throttle lock , better cushioned gloves .. anything else ?
