Confused between Pulsar 135LS and Honda Shine SP.
I want to buy my first bike and really getting confused. There are reviews out there saying pulsar 135ls is not a good bike have problems with gear shifting etc. Pls tell me which bike to buy. My use would be daily rides of 10kms approx and weekly 100km rides. Suggestions needed.Tags: None

Re: Confused between Pulsar 135LS and Honda Shine SP.
I've owned the LS in the past. All I can say is that it is capable of taking a beating. I bought a second hand 2010 model with 33000 kms on it. I rode it for around 2500 kms then sold it.
But I, being a squid, rode the LS like a Superbike. Now that I am more responsible than before, I can say it can take quite a beating.:D

Re: Confused between Pulsar 135LS and Honda Shine SP.
I own the LS. LS is a very capable motorcycle, like Siddhanth said, it's able to take a lot of beating. The engine is rougher than the Hondas, there are vibes, the exhaust note is thrilling, revs all the way upto 11000 RPMs, returns 55kmpl almost everyday, pulls very good for a 135cc and is definitely in the league of the 150-160cc motorcycles. Buy it only if you want pure performance. If you want a smoother, calmer engine then go for the Honda even if the performance is weak. All depends on you. If you're the type of the guy who loves performance and redlining, go for the pulsar, else, Honda.

Re: Confused between Pulsar 135LS and Honda Shine SP.
Glad to hear these comments guys. I i am not a hooligan rider. Probably I wont even cross 80kmph mark. So i guess this sums it up about the choice. Will be buying one in November. Thanks......Originally posted by KartikJ4001 View PostI own the LS. LS is a very capable motorcycle, like Siddhanth said, it's able to take a lot of beating. Re: Confused between Pulsar 135LS and Honda Shine SP.
Shine is a smoother bike while 135LS is a more powerful bike. The newer 135LS bikes are smoother than the previous ones but. You can go for any of these two. Shine will give you peace of mind while 135LS will give you confidence.A bike on the road is worth two in the shed.

Since this is your first bike, what is the reason behind only shortlisting these 2 bikes and leaving out the rest?Originally posted by swapnil15 View PostI want to buy my first bike and really getting confused. Re: Confused between Pulsar 135LS and Honda Shine SP.
I own a pulsar 135ls, 1st batch 2010 feb. Bike is as new and never had any issues with electricals, also awesome mileage, awesome comfort, man the grab on handle bar is very small so u can make ur twists quick. Also the main advantage is the customization. U can do many modifications which the bike will accept.
Now comes the shine, its good for city riding, mileage, still u can get a throttle when u see a vacant good road... Also its called in our local as uncle bike(married men). My cousin sold it in 2years because it had engine and front breaking issues.. Better go with pulsar and support indian products.
