  • Pretty confused here...

I'm currently having a 2013 FZ-S, and in the past had 2004 Pulsar 150. As in few years, the inevitable time to upgrade is in the horizon, I'm looking for a new ride. This time definitely something above 250 and below 500. That brings me to a HUGE list of bikes [emoji39] that's yummy but should it be the Royal Enfield Clan or KTM pocket rocket or the delicious Benelli or the new kid Mojo or the dynamic Dominar or stay with Yamaha... Every brand has it's pros and cons, I'm sure Royal Enfield doesn't suite me well, mainly due to the fit and finish in relation to the Japanese bikes. But, with family and occasional ride with my better half, pillion comfort is important. Which makes R15s makes it look very attractive, but that below my filter of 250-500 cc bikes. Hmm! Looks like it is becoming very difficult. Anyway, Benelli looks promising in terms of pillion comfort, looks like I'm leaning more towards Benelli... [emoji53]

I really want a... I'm confused here... Guess I need help.

    My priorities ordered in impotence;
    1. Handling
    2. Good pillion support
    3. ABS
    4. Daily commute of 60Kms
    5. Good riding posture for 90% city riding

Your opinions are welcome, am I missing something here enlighten me, I know we can't ask for everything in one bike, but it can have a decent compromise. Not like KTM RC290's miniscule pillion seat level of compromise.

    Help!

    Query Approved

You should probably go with the Dominar or FZ/Fazer25. Decent pillion comfort
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Yes FZ25 or a Fazer 250 is a good deal, but it lacks ABS, If you are prominently in need of ABS then you should go for Dominor or any KTM series

You can add CBR to your list as it has got a pretty much usable rear seat and reliability too but you gotta look out for the spares .

Here is Bangalore, spares for the CBR 250R were never an issue. I got all spares in ready stock in one or the other SVCs.

I thought CBR250R is out of sales due to BS4 non-compliance!

Yes as of now CBR 150R/250R are not available for purchase.
Within 2 lacs I think Dominar is the only bike that checks all your boxes.

Looks like Dominar is the best fitting, but Bajaj brand really puts me down after my experience with 2003 Pulsar, in terms of quality.

Used bikes, maybe with good service record!

I am on the same boat as you with little tinkering WRT to KM (100+) and Drive Environment (City+Highway).

I TD Dominar and my better half was unable to be my pillion without holding me with 2 hands. Definitely not a family bike per se.

Dominor is different from the Pulsar segment in terms of quality as Bajaj has put a lot in Crafting its flagship model with quality, Many owners stated the bike is as sturdy as an Enfield, I think that Dominor is a good deal.

Thats a really good example buddy. Stay away from anything that has RE build quality.

Within 2 lacs you folks can look at Duke 390 (2016 models). Else raise it a bit (like 2.5) and get a used R3. I got myself one and its awesome.
The kind of requirements that you have (esp ABS and pillion comfort) wont come in this range. You need to be looking at something like CBR 650F.

The biggest issue with Kawi bikes is the ASS. The new svcs dont have the bare minimum parts in stock.
