  • A mission with KTM Duke 390!!!

    Hello Riders!!

I am planning to buy the New KTM Duke 390 (obviously 2017 version ) from Delhi in February 2018. Will be shifting to Delhi soon (Found a new job recently) and will be staying in a PG or Rented Flat.
I have a great ambition to travel all across the North india covering Punjab, Rajasthan, Himachal pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Haryana and Uttar pradesh (also Nepal if possible) by bike. I have already done Manali to Leh - ladakh and back to Manali on a rented RE.

From the moment i started to think about doing this, the first bike that came to my mind is KTM Duke!! but till now i am not able to come to a conclusion about the bike, weather to go for the Duke or to do some research against my heart and check for some other bike. I have no problems with the fuel efficiency of the Bike. The eye catching design and looks of Duke compensates the fuel efficiency for me

So The fundamental doubts i have in my mind as of now are,

    1. Living in a PG or Rented Flat how can i get my bike registered in Delhi (Without any local address proof)???
    2. Is there any other Bike within 3 Lakh budget that can satisfy all my needs???
    3. People who have traveled across all theses states i have mentioned above, please suggest me some the best places to visit. So that i can plan accordingly.

    Thanks in advance.

Re: A mission with KTM Duke 390!!!

    Query Approved

The Duke is a good bike but not the perfect bike for touring. The Dominar, Mojo, relaunched Himalayan (whenever that happens) etc will be better for touring.

As address proof you will have to show your rent agreement to get the vehicle registered here. If you find that too much of a headache, you can just buy the bike in your hometown and ride it down to Delhi. No problems with using outside registered vehicles here.

Your touring specific queries you can ask here: https://www.xbhp.com/talkies/touring...ing-itinerary/
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Give your details here if you want to help your fellow xBhpian stranded in your city

You can get your bike registered to your pg/rented house by making a LIC policy. It will provide as a address proof for your registration.
      Hope this helps!!😁
