1. Budget: approx 1 lakh on road
2. Age: 29
3. Height: 5.9
4. Weight: 83
5. Intended usage: city commute and i do feel the urge to ride bike so there will be once in a while long trips.
6. Fuel Efficiency requirement: expecting min 40kmpl
7. City & Highway percentage usage: 70:30
8. Approximate running: at present it will be very less around 10 km
9. City / Town /Village of residence (so we can evaluate road conditions / traffic / terrain / altitude / OTR pricing): Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh
10. Brand/Bike type preference (if any): Dislike bajaj due to poor engine quality and NVH levels. Prefer naked street bikes Gixxer seems to be pretty good from what i read.
11. Other details: I would ride around 60 to 70 kmph in city and around 90 kmph on highways. Guess i wont be touching the top speeds of any bikes. Prefer silent refined engine and comfort riding position. Buying for long term. I use things as long as it works and maintain them in pristine condition. Not in a hurry to buy immediately.
Buying bike not just a requirement on daily basis but for the pleasure of owning one and having "me time" going out for lonely rides.
Going through the bike related news and reviews from a week. Read about the mandatory ABS requirement from april Shall i wait until then? Decided to join here to get better suggestions from the biking community.
I took test rides on hornet and gixxer. The showroom guys are not allowing to do a proper test drive, only shortest path around the the showroom
. Dont like the way engine sounds on the hornet, expected a smooth refined sound as it is built on unicorn. Does the unicorn 160 too sound like this? Coming to the gixxer its eager and the disc breaks having an instant bite when applied thats what i can deduce from the short ride. Is it easy to ride in start stop traffic? Also suggest a helmet and gloves for me. I have no idea on whats available in my city will concentrate after zeroing on the bike.
