  • (RE classic 350/500 or FZ25)Planning to sell my RE TB350 2011 and confused which bike to get now?

    Hi,

I have RE TB 350 2011 model and planning to sell it and get a new bike but am confused and need to decide which bike to get after I sell it, as you know I have TB 350 and it had hell lot of issues and made lot of visits to lots of mechanics and made it work some how and its fine now, but its RE some or the other issue every few months, I want to know how's bike quality and refinement now? I want to get Classic 350 or 500, 500 had nice pick up and throttle response compared to 350, 500 cruises very well in 80-100 which I like a lot, My TB350 never crossed 75kmph due to vibrations and heard it has EFI issues and Its 2.2 on-road, how can they make such unreliable bike for 2.2 lakh and I need help to understand engine refinement and quality of 350/500.

Its sad we pay so much money and RE makes such unreliable bikes

I even have FZ 25 in mind it looks awesome and Yamaha makes reliable bikes and heard great things about it, please help me deciding which bike to get?

If I cant decide which bike to get, then I'll probably stop selling my bike

A close friend's RE Classic needed hub change within 6 months. Since you've already experienced RE problems, I'd suggest something more reliable. FZ 25, though not very excting in terms of overall product, should be reliable. However, having used TB for 7-8 years, if you prefer heavier bikes - consider Dominar.

The FZ25 can beat the RE500 any day in performance. Afaik, it's 2 seconds faster to 100 kmph than the RE500. Buy it, enjoy it. It can cruise at 125 kmph all day with minimal vibrations.

Touring you can go for the Fazer 25, tho not the best looking, also a new carboreuted mojo with telescopic forks are out.

FZ25 is definitely a good choice. You could look at Dominar alternately.
But personally, I would any day choose the frugal Yamaha engine.

+1 for FZ if you want a reliable and well built bike that is good for city commuting and highway riding. Nothing ever goes wrong with Yammys and they are fill it and forget it bikes. The servicing and maintenance is cheap, all you have to do is find a service center that is honest.

+1 for dominar if you want all the latest bells and whistles on a bike with an awesome price tag. Engine is not so smooth as compared to Yammys and you will feel little vibes on your handle bars and foot pegs at certain RPMs, but not as unrefined as REs. I would say its weight makes it a bit difficult in bumper to bumper traffic, but you have been riding an RE, compared to that, it will be a piece of cake in traffic jams. Again, you will need to find competent enough service centers for Bajaj as well.

Both these bikes are a huge upgrade over RE.. be it in terms of power, reliability, smoothness, bells and whistles, city commuting and highway riding abilities. Take test rides of both and then choose the one that suits you the best.
I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.
