Yea sadly. The RTR was purchased only for pleasure trips and such. And since i was busy i cudn't take out the bike much.Originally posted by Sarvajit View Post@HydBiker: You have given him the link to the Speculation thread! Jokes apart, has your RTR done only 1.1K kms.? It would be a crime to sell it after such less usage.
Thats the idea right nowOriginally posted by rennycornelius View Postdio is a bike like man... i agree here completely, i sold mine off and regretted it later....

Fair Enough! The R15 does what every other bike does in India and in many ways surpasses them. And as far as touring is concerned it can even do Kodachadri and back as part of a 480+km/day trip without causing a backache/butt ache! Need stronger shoulders thoughOriginally posted by Wheel_Spin View PostHi guys i currently own a Apache rtr160 refresh which is about 9 months old. However i have been planning to sell off my bike and get the Yamaha R15. Budget is not an issue. So will my biking experience improve significantly ? Also is the R15 suited for small trips (touring) since the position is quite sporty ? And finally is the upgrade worth the extra moolah i will spending ?
I have been quoted the following for the R15
Ex-showroom price - 97495
Insurance - 2081
Reg. amount - 7640
Octroi - 4384
Total - 111530/-
Fair enough ? Thanks in advance.

RTR is a fun bike nonetheless but i still find the R15 to be a lot more fun!
Go for the Blue color if your buying the bike. It just looks great! Just ride in a proper position and you wont experience much (or any once u get used to riding it) pain. Very comfortable bike. Atleast for me over my last bike :P
Or else The RTR 180 is on its way which offers a bit more performance than most. Just be careful with sand, potholes and speedbreakers on the road and the bike'll do just fine.--------------------------------

. Does the bike easily loose composure on sand, potholes etc?

While braking on sand the wheel would lock up too easily. The bike doesnt completely loose composure but the tyres aren't built for off roading and that shows clearly. The bike feels all over the place on slush and sand. Thanks the advice kwokfist

Regarding potholes and speedbrakers u need to be careful with respect to the rims and forks basically. The rims have a tendency to crack or bend when hitting a pothole at 90-100+ speeds, as some owners have experienced here. Other than that no issues. Although i thought Kodachadri is going to break it apart nothing of that sort happened on my trip. The bike held its own! Yeah manvouring on sand is a little tricky but u can still do good speeds on straights while off roading but need to be very careful in the turns. But the bike can do it all!
