Personally, I would suggest the Dominar. FZ25 is a good option but, it might be uncomfortable considering your lower back pain.
CBR250? it's old. Period. The engine has been same since 2011 with no upgrades. Bike isn't bad. I own one but seeing the new market, it better be avoided. Plus, Dominar offers ABS, which is an added bonus i this price segment.

Test ride the CBR250 and Dominar back to back. The CBR250 is comfortable, I own one, have chronic pack pain too. The Dominar with ~183kg is heavier to pick up and move out of a parking spot. Cbr250 still is relevant if you prefer peace and quiet enjoyment of a bike. Those people complaining about the lack of technology are overlooking the fact that after a year or so, fancy electronic aids will fail. Take the KTMs, you see owners having low engine oil sensor failure, side stand sensor failure. They have to run to the SVC to get the latest software update to solve bugs in their bikes. All this, in one year old bikes.

You don't need any fancy electronic aids with the exception of ABS, all you need in a bike is reliability, performance and practicality. The CBR250 gives more mileage than Dominar in the city too.

My suggestion is Dominar 400. If you need good seat comfort for rider and pillion, neutral handling, sturdy feel on highways and peppy acceleration. Don't mind the weight you will get used to it easily and while on the move you think it's a really powerful pulsar being nimble/agile. I personally felt the weight to give a certain character which no Bajaj's previously gave me. ABS is a bonus too. Almost niggle free too after a year of taking feedback from customers. The first Bajaj I would recommend to anyone.

-CBR250R was dead. But Honda has given it new life in the way of a sudden shock treatment, but the patient will not survive is what I reckon. I'm not sure who is gonna buy one though. Everyone is going to buy the Apache RR310 anyways when looking for a sports tourer now. Honda will pay for being lethargic and lazy to care about Indian customers in this segment. I was hoping they might give us at least the updated CBR300R, but they seem to think we only enjoy Activas and Dios. I'm not really sure if I will put my money on a brand new 250R now, which is almost a decade old if Honda still retains the same pricetag, which is â‚ą20,000 more than Dominar. No offense to any CBR riders, I just feel that had it's time, gave us good fun during its sunshine days, and retired honourably.

-If your in Bangalore I would recommend the upcoming Mojo UT300 too, which will be around â‚ą45,000 cheaper than standard Mojo. Since it will probably loose around 10 kgs, retaining only one exhaust now coupled with the presence of conventional forks, I feel the lazy steering might be gone. It's like a cushy SUV on two wheels and will be cheap to maintain too.

-If not for the delay of Royal Enfield's new twin Interceptor 650 I would've recommended that too, since it will mostly be around â‚ą3.5-4 lakhs on road. But it's easily gonna take July/August or even beyond to reach showrooms is what I heard from insiders.

Hi thanks for the detailed advice. I will be getting dominar in a week or so. Would love to get a re 650 though but thats going to take some time.

Yup, 650cc twin is coming soon, many delays again and again, but my close friend is saying it will reach showrooms only by August it seems. So launch mostly in July/August.
