Hey ! I was faced with the same question about an year ago when i was confused between the Apache 200, Gixxer SF and the NS 200. So, let me help you here.

Regarding the two main doubts you have, firstly, the reliability and smoothness of the engine is better as compared to the NS 200, take a test ride of both and you will surely feel it. I have the Gixxer SF for more than a year now and there are absolutely negligible vibrations till 7000 RPM and even after that mark the vibrations are only in the footpegs and that too not soo much. I took a test ride of all the three bikes mentioned above and undoubtedly the Gixxer SF's engine was more smooth. Secondly, the maintenance part, since i live in Noida and the service cost wouldn't be much different than that from Delhi. So, the free service costs around Rs. 500 and the paid service is for Rs. 990 without any extra repairs (which are also not that costly) etc. Also, the availability is also not an issue now with Suzuki i got my front fender, clutch lever, brake pedal replaced on several occasions and the spares were readily available.

Now, ask me if you have any other doubts. I was in the same situation last year. Also, i STRONGLY RECOMMEND you to take test ride of both the motorcycles and then decide your choice. Thanks.

Who exactly are these people that are saying "SUZUKI is Unreliable" and on what basis have they said that?

Based on your statement it looks like you are new to the Motorcycling community.

Heres what I would suggest, do your own research and stop listening to other people.

Visit the Gixxer and 200NS ownership threads and read through them if you have doubts.

You havent bought the bike and you are already worried about resale value.

As far as maintenance cost is concerned, each SVC will have a Cost List for Labor charges and consumables. Decide accordingly.

If you are going to ride only in the City then get teh SF FI ABS, no questions asked.

I have one more doubt regarding the fairing. How is the fairing quality and did you need to repair/replace it since the time you owned the bike? If yes, what was the cost of repair.

The fairing is also of good quality. It is made from ABS Plastic. I enquired generally about the cost of fairing once and it was around 1100-1200 for the whole set (the fairing is divided into one upper portion and one lower portion) for one side.

You got it the other way round but I won't look down upon Bajaj. 200NS is basically a KTM designed engine with alterations from Bajaj. Bajaj's parts are available everywhere but one should be very careful of fakes and only get them through Authorized retailers/distributors/dealers. TD all bikes you shortlist and decide.

See Bajaj NS200 is also a good product but at the end of the day it's a Bajaj. The only product I recommended from their stable to anyone is the fantastic Dominar 400.

Generally Suzuki India products especially below Rs 1.5lakhs is at-least one/two levels above Bajaj in terms of engine quality, fit/finish and reliability.

Gixxer twins are easily the segment benchmark now. Engines are very abuse friendly, give very good economy when ridden sedately, and also put a grin in your face when your in the mood for some fun due to their razor sharp handling. Now with FI and ABS they've become even more VFM in my opinion. The service costs are cheap too.

We own a 2016 Gixxer SP now clocked around 12000kms, still runs like new.

Go For Gixxer. It will give you a Good Mileage, Smooth Ride. Suzuki makes better quality products in compare to Bajaj. Bajaj offers good looking models for what you can say value for money price but at the end of the day, quality and price goes in favor of Suzuki.
