  • City Commute + Mini Tourer

So i am looking for a bike which i can use for my daily office commute as well as those weekend trips. I can stretch my budget till 1.5l.

    Options i am considering:
    1. FZ25
    2. Pulsar 200NS
    3. Apache 200

I am open to more options as long as they are below my budget. Also, i am quite tall at 6 feet so would want a bike which is comfortable for tall riders.

I am really confused and i am planning for test rides for all 3 bikes. Which bike do you guys think will suit my needs the most?

    Topic Approved.

Well, all the bikes you mentioned are good at their work, but the FZ25 should do a better job at it.

Another good option well within your budget is Hero Xtreme 200.

Test ride all these bikes, then decide from a long term perspective.

      Hi,

Close your eyes and get the FZ25, it will fit all your requirements at ₹1,25,000 on road. It's seat height will be just right for you.

If you want to save another ₹10-15k Apache 200.

      Cheers!

        1.25l on road?
I checked the prices with one of the showrooms in Bangalore. He quoted 1,49xxx.

I am not sure if Fz25 is available anywhere at 1.25l on road.

FZ is on the top of my list but still wanted to get an opinion here.

I actually used to own a apache 160 and had no complains so have a soft corner for apache series.

Not a big fan of hero xtreme 200's looks

Fz25 should be the first choice. Does everything you ask from it and keeps the rider comfortable, be it daily commute or tours.

The NS200 should be the second choice, the liquid cooled engine and 6 speed gear box is fun to ride around in the city and makes the highway runs easy on tours.

The RTR200 should be the third choice, the lack of 6th gear and liquid cooled engine is felt on straight highways, but the FI engine makes it up with the crisp throttle response.
More fun to ride in city streets and daily commutes.

Take test rides back to back and choose the one that suits you and your riding style the best.
I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

Thanks for the input, test riding all 3 of them is the plan...

Re: City Commute + Mini Tourer

FZ-25 is the most suitable/practical alternative among what is available today. Since you have soft corner for RTR 200, I'd suggest you have a look at it as well, especially if you can get the ABS version. FZ-25 lacks ABS and probable addition not in sight either.

Also, do go through respective ownership threads to understand "known issues" and see if you can live with them.
