  • Help regarding choosing a quarter litre or 300cc segment bike

Hey there fellow riders. I have been riding a 2011 make CBZ Xtreme until now and now finally I decided to upgrade to a bigger bike.

My daily rides comprises of mainly commuting on highways and less city travelling. So I want comfort, safety and optimum power so that when I rev bike will provide power on demand.

I have shortlisted these bikes, so if any of you guys own this then please share your views and suggestions are welcomed.

    1. Apache 310rr
    2. KTM Duke 390
    3. Yamaha R3

    Thank you.[emoji1]

    Topic Approved.

I would suggest Duke 390, but its not that comfortable on bad roads, specially when riding 2 up. It has good handling, but that's mostly due to the hard suspension.
See if that fits your need.

      Out of the 3 :

The duke is most equipped. Armed to the teeth with bells and whistles. Most value for money. Have niggles, check out the ownership thread. If you can live the niggles, this should be the first choice.

R3 is the most refined (being a parallel twin) and most reliable (being a Yammy). Its also the costliest, but worth the price. If the budget allows, this should be the one to choose.

310R is the newest kid on the block. A head turner through and through. Nobody can comment on the long term ownership and the reliability of the bike, but TVS is not known for making unreliable bikes. A leap of faith according to me.

To conclude all three bikes have something to offer, take test rides and choose the one that connects with you the best.
I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

Duke 390 hands down but like Ankey said it’s not niggle free. If you can ignore the negatives and brace the positives then go for it!

As you ride in the highway mostly, Duke will fit the bill perfectly, but if you can extend your budget a little bit, consider twin cylinders, they're a bliss to ride
