  • Buy New Mahindra Mojo or Used Mojo

    HI Team,

This is my first query and post in XBhp . I was bit confused over last few weeks which bike to buy . My requirement was a daily commuter to office and occasional touring. I want bike with conformable upright position to ride . I was riding FZ-16 from last five years so wanted to upgrade my bike next mid level(above 150cc). so took TD almost all 250-400cc bikes available in market and narrowed down to Mahindra Mojo as my final buy. as considering the Mojo sales and ASS 2.3 OTR in Bengaluru is that worth? and the resale value is horrible as i can see so many bikes under sale with very less resale value. I thought to go with used Mojo , is it worth to put money on Mojo and Mahindra may exit any time from market with poor sales . Bit confused .

Mojo- - Liked comforatble posture and niggle free engine
Duke 390 -- Bit agrresive posture and not comfortable for me
Fz 250 -- Same Fz and looking out of Yamaha
Dominar -- Felt bit heavier on handle bar and Bajaj brand still question on reliability/quality and long term maintenance
Kawasaki -- personally didnt like the bikes
CBR 250R -- Aggresive posture and decade old design

    Query Approved

If you do find a Mojo in good condition, then buy it. Spending that amount on a brand new bike and not getting support from the manufacture in the future would be terrible after spending 2.3 lakhs. Also check the ownership thread.
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Re: Buy New Mahindra Mojo or Used Mojo

      Hi,

If you're gonna keep a motorcycle for 5-6 years, it's my suggestion to always buy brand new one.

If you don't mind the lack of ABS, yes definitely Mojo makes a serious case for itself by being a rare jack of all trades type motorcycle experience with its own cult following.

Also since you're in Bangalore I reckon the service/support will be the best in the country for Mojo.

Yes the price might seem high but if you're gonna keep it for a long time I think it will definitely serve you well.

      Cheers!

        Thanks For valuable Inputs.

I want to keep this bike for another 5years atleast and Mahindra shouldnot exit from its sales and services.

My two cents on the service and spares issue.

From what I've come across, Mahindra has good plans with the Mojo platform at least. They will be launching Jawa and BSA branded bikes in the country which will be based on the Mojo platform. I think they even confirmed they'd be using the same engine.

As of now, it seems like they're genuinely interested in keeping the product going.

Also, like jazzysaravana pointed out, Bangalore does have the best support for the Mojo.

          You should be safe.

Used bikes are usually a hit and miss. Getting a sweet deal on used bikes is pure luck. However since you do plan to keep the bike for a long time, you could save quite a lot money since the resale value of the vehicle is terrible to say the least.

IMO, if you can find a clean bike with minimal kms on the odo it would be foolish to let it go since most Mojo owners are clocking crazy miles on their steeds. [emoji14]
