I need your valuable opinion for purchasing a good commuter bike.
I'm 186cm (almost 6.1') tall and thin looking guy. Earlier I rode ordinary bikes including Bajaj discover Etc. But they often gave lower back pains, probably because my back was to be kept straight in sitting posture.
Right now, I'm looking to get a new bike - specifically for office (commuter) and weekend rides. I may not ride more than 400km per day on long rides.
But my concerns are
1. comfort for the back (very imp) and legs/knees
2. Mileage (40+ is ok)
3. Normal maintenance and city rides.
I researched on the internet and many websites pointed to Gixxer SF. I was initially interested in RE Thunderbird 350x 2018 edition. But, after a deep research, I found that RE engines are bulky and they drink fuel. In fact, I hated the noise and the vibrations that bullets and RE's create. Someone said that Thunderbird will create vibrations once we ride above 80 speed. I usually end up riding in 70+ even in cities and not to mention in highways (might touch between 80-95, not above that for safety) So I dropped the idea of 350X RE, though I was ready to put 1.8 lakhs.
Hero Karizma ZMR was is in my next list, but I soon realized that they were discontinued. Sad!
Now, reviews said CBR 150R and Gixxer are good for tall riders. Is that right? Will you suggest Gixxer SF for my requirement? do you have any other suggestions for bikes below 1.7 lakhs ?
Also, I usually ride btwin bicycle with both the seat and the handle raised such that I had to lean front (bend straight) with my arm elbows straight. I find that posture very apt for my backache.
I even rode my bicycle for hours but found to be comfortable for back pain. Note that my legs are tall.
sO, my doubt is whether sitting in Gixxer would give me similar body ergonomics (flat and bent back) given my 6.1 height ? I saw in some vidoes, people < 5.7 feet have their backs straight while they rode. What do you say? Please suggest, including any alternatives. I know it's best to take a test ride. I'm booking a test ride, but any preliminery suggestion would save my time in going/skipping the option.
Thanks in advance.
