  • Bullet 350 to an RE with better brakes.

I have been riding a Bullet 350 for the past three years and I have never enjoyed riding a bike more. But unfortunately due to a thumb injury(not related to the bike) and piss poor breaking of the Bullet 350, I am looking for an alternate. I am reluctant to retro-fit disc brakes because it is not being officially done by RE. I do not want to trust third parties with this task.

I was hoping to turn this one in and get a Thunderbird/Standard 500(X) and was wondering which one has better brakes. I spoke to a couple of people who own a Thunderbird and they dissuaded me from getting it because of maintenance. As per a Power Drift review, the Standard 500 has poor brakes as well.

I really don't want to get anything else because a) I simply don't like the jing-bang designs which try too hard to impress, b) I find the other bikes too light to handle. I like the weight of Royal Enfields which I find easier to handle.

Will the wise ones of xbhp please help?

    Thanks!
