| Any alternatives for NS200? I'm planning to buy a 200 (or 200+ cc) bike for regular commute and occasional long rides (3 or 4- times a year 500+kms) and short rides frequently (~10 times - 150-200kms). Why did I compare NS200? I like the looks, it suits well when I ride especially for my height (5' 10''). Reason why i'm thinking a lot and looking for options are because i'm unable to rely on the service over here in my surroundings as many are complaining about poor service plus i had bad experience going to the showroom where i had to get a lot attention just to get details and a bike for Test Drive. Plus its always good to compare and decide than going out with one bike in mind. Prefer naked bikes than fairing ones. I strongly prefer ABS and a 6th gear (Unfortunately Yamaha's out of league i know) which would help me in long drives and my budget <2L. Even thought of BMW G310R but pricing (definitely 3.5L+) and its after sales for service and parts cost would be more as even TVS is charging hefty so dropped it off. |

Currently using 2014 ns200 for my daily commute and once or twice a year touring needs. Done 70k+ with long rides to Spiti, Leh, Zanskar, Sach pass, Killar Kishtwar and some smaller rides to Uttrakhand and himachal.
In less than 2L if you can live with the mileage of Dominar and service cost of dominar go for it.
NS requires frequent gear changes in city.. But has a 6th gear for better highway performance.. Its a tradeoff which you need to decide.
On the other hand FZ25 makes a strong case in city as well as twisties up in the mountains.
You can also look at Apache 200 ABS model.. Makes a better city bike than NS and can do occasional long touring.
Dominar and FZ25 are good options for you.FZ25 suiting your requirements better but misses on ABS.
Poor service- I have no issues with my service center as i have built good rapport with them and i have basic knowhow about my bike.
Showroom experience - Its like this at most places irrespective of brand and price bracket.. Good dealers provide good all round experience.. Exceptions are there..
Test ride all options and decide..Comment

Dominar, i need to TD again. I did ride it for few kms in my friends bike a year back. No doubt it has lot of features and good bike but double the cc expectation of mine plus its heavy so riding in b2b traffic will be difficult. Mileage difference i see there is 10kmpl lesser for Dominar, not sure about service cost though.
I will have to use the bike for office commute (10kms up and down) daily apart from my weekend rides and long rides.
TVS bikes i haven't considered yet, thanks for quoting Apache 200 ABS, i guess its the 2018 version you are quoting. Look wise its good, have to dig and see how it will be in long run. Not sure about durability of TVS bikes, may be existing owners can comment on it.Comment
