Hello, I am planning on buying a bike in the near future and would like some help in making the decision.
I have been riding an activa for the majority of my life (16 years) and am well versed when it comes to non gear two wheelers but I would like to buy a bike and I need your help in doing so.
I am fairly new to riding a bike, I know the basics and I use my brother’s Splendor for short stints over the weekend but that is the extent of it. The bike I do purchase will be used slow and steady in the beginning until I understand the machine and get more confident but as I do, I plan on traveling further and exploring more. I have been scouring the threads here for a while now and understand that taking a test rides is essential before making a final decision. I do have test drives planned in the coming weeks. The usage of the bike will mostly be within the city for running errands on weekdays. On weekends I plan on taking it on a bit of a ride to Delhi and other NCR’s and explore various attractions. Eventually I would like to do some long distance touring as well but that is well down the line.
I am personally leaning towards the Apache RTR 200 with ABS due to the added safety of the ABS and also because I have wanted an Apache since the first one came out but my dad did not think of it as a sound investment. Guess who has savings now dad! I am considering the FZ25 as well because it seams to be of a forgiving nature (based off of the reviews I have read) and the touring capabilities but it blends into the crowd. The NS 200 is also being considered but I don’t really know why I subconsciously dislike bajaj (I think I formulated the opinion after they launched the 220 whose looks I did not like) also because I have often read that the build quality is not top notch. The Apache 200 2.0 is being considered because of the dual channel ABS and the slipper clutch but the vibrations and lack of 6th gear raise some red flags.
I am not considering the R15 v3 because the seating position is way too committed and the Hero xtreme 200 is again too commuter’ish also putting out the lowest power figures in the batch.
Please let me know if there are any viable options I could have overlooked and also shed some light on the pro’s and con’s of the shortlisted bikes.
Thank you for your help in advance!
