    Suzuki Gixxer SF FI ABS or Yamaha Fazer FI V2 2018

    Hello to all Pro Bikers here, I am new in xbhp and I badly need a suggestion from you all as I am going to own the first bike of my life.

    Purpose -

    1.Daily Commute in Mumbai.
    2.Long Drive once in a month with my wife.

    I have gone to long drives using Fazer V1 non fi and was not comfortable that much where as FZ FI was much more comfortable. I always prefer a sporty look on my bike and thats why I have shortlisted Gixxer SFI FI ABS SP 2018 and Fazer FI V2 2018. I am having real trouble choosing any one of them due to the following reasons -

    1. After Sales Service in Mumbai for both the brands. Which one will give me less trouble Suzuki or Yamaha.
    2. After going through the reviews I came to know the braking in Fazer is better than Gixxer. But my questions is how much is the difference as I will commute in the city traffic daily, so this will matter a lot.
    3.Fazer does not comes with ABS. How much important ABS is. Will it really help me in wet roads.
    4. Comfort of the person sitting behind me. The seats in both the bikes almost looks identical to me. Need expert advice here
    5. Maintenance cost. How much difference I will have on these 2 bikes.
    6. Last but not the least, I need help from some experienced folks in Mumbai here regarding after sales service and riding comfort in city traffic.

    Sorry if the questions sound silly to anyone. But as this will be my first bike ever, I really need some expert advice from you guys.

    Gixxer SF FI ABS or Fazer FI V2 2018 As my first bike

    Hi All,

    I am going to own my first bike and I am confused between Gixxer SF FI ABS and Fazer FI V2 2018. I am buying a bike for below 2 reasons -

    1.Daily commute
    2. Long drive once in a month with my wife

    I am currently in Mumbai and I need some expert advice here. Below are the points for which Ia m having the confusion -

    1. After sales servicing of both the brands in Mumbai. Which one will give me less pain. Suzuki or Yamaha in Mumbai.
    2.As per the reviews brakes in Fazer FI is better than Gixxer SF FI. My question is how much is the difference. As i will commute daily in city traffic, so this matters a lot.
    3. Comfort of the person seating in the back. Which bike is more comfortable for a person riding behind.
    4.Maintaince Cost of both the bikes.
    5.Fazer doesn't come with ABS. How much advantage Gixxer have than Fazer for having ABS.

    Please guide me. Thanks in advance.

      A lot of these questions can be answered by going for a test ride. Did you try to get one?

        Yes, Fazer is tried and tested. There is no complain. Gixxer sf fi I did a test ride but only for 15 mins. Problem is lookwise I like Gixxer more and want to buy it. But there are some concerns like, How the headlight will perform at night for gixxer. Read somewhere headlight is not that good at night. Also the aftersales service of suzuki in Mumbai. How is it.

          If you can compromise on looks then I'll suggest you to go for xtreme 200 with abs, on road price is just 1 lakhs with abs. In 2018 don't buy any bike without abs. Abs saved me 3 times , so go for abs only , remember life is precious [emoji120]

            Thanks for the reply. Didn't like the looks of Xtreme 200. Though what you told about abs helped a lot. Getting the gixxer 😊

              I agree with #bpk. If you're getting the option of ABS, go for it. I've used Gixxer SF without ABS and the bite from the brakes seems decent enough compared to FZ atleast. Can't say about Fazer FI but the ABS on Gixxer is an added advantage. Hopefully Yamaha will offer ABS by Q1 2019.
