  • Info on Buying Ninja 300 2019

HI Xbhpians! I currently own a Honda Stunner 2012 model and wanted to upgrade to a bigger engine. I had my eyes on R3 but then Ninja did a price cut and now its the most affordable twin cylinder motorcycle in India. I loved the design of Ninja but I heard about the ownership cost of Ninja is way high than R3 and CBR250R. I am also not sure what parts are now localised apart from MRF tyres and Endurence brakes. I read on some threads that the chain-sprocket setup is 14k +. Thats way more than R3 which had of 5k (read on some online post). Does anyone know what could be the ownership cost on the long run? Do I need to go always to the showroom or I can find Aftermarket substitutes at better cost (Either Online or in HYDERABAD)? or Should I consider CBR 250R or wait for JAWA or MT15 showcased in INTERMOT?

Request you to refer to the N300 ownership forum in xBhp. All your questions should get answered as the thread is detailed and covers a wide range of issues.

I was in the same position. I didn’t choose Ninja for the following reasons:

          1. Outdated model. In many countries N300 has stopped its production and it looks like Kawasaki wants to finish the leftover.

          2. Higher maintenance. A normal general service cost 7K. If you drop your Bike then the spares are not easy to get immediately. You have to wait for months.

          3. Fewer service centers compared to Yamaha.

Yes, it has all the features at lesser cost but I prefer a peace of mind, so I chose R3.

Apart from the maintenance cost, they are charging more than Rs.30000 as handling charges while buying. Is it a same situation to R3 also?

There is no such charge as handling charge.
If a dealer is asking for Handling charge then you need to walk away from such dealerships.
This is not a problem with Yamaha Dealerships for R3.

Sorry for barging in late....but I just finished editing the 2019 Ninja 300 ABS vlog....I did ride the bike and i think it's worth the price....it feels premium, has a very refined engine and has loads of torque in the mid and high range...but in the lows...there is absolutely nothing.

Here's the link to my video!!
