  • Help me find a sports tourer

Hi guys. I want a sports cruiser for touring. I have two questions

    1. When am riding with my team mostly comprised of Avenger 220's and other such low power bikes will I feel overpowered? I mean like can I cruise at around 60 to 80 in top gear?

    2. I ride a Pulsar 180 right now which I maintain very well and its very smooth. When I took the test drive of a Duke 250, I felt vibrations. Will these vibrations fade away and become refined? Because I also took the Dominar for a test drive 10 mins later and it was very smooth (it was in crap condition with many broken parts yet very smooth).

My brain sees Dominar as the logical choice. But my heart cant decide between Dominar and D250. I seriously love the freaky looks of the D250.

I once rode from Madurai to Banglore (400 km) in a Thunderbird 350 and half way through when I took a tea break my hands were vibrating like a tuning fork. I don't want that to happen ever. Is there any other sub-2 lakh bike that will suit touring? Except CBR and Mojo.

Ok, now that was a third question

Bro, Dominor is the ideal choice for touring apart from CBR 250. Wait for the new model to launch and you'll get additional goodies from an already good package.

I'd suggest you to wait for a few months and check out the interceptor 650 before you take a decision in haste. The motorcycle sure does look and sound promising. Dominar is a good option but I personally won't prefer the duke, although the 250 is the better of the two(200&390).

Well, the segment you are looking for doesn't have too many models in India. Going by your requirements, I'd suggest you to take test rides of FZ25 and FAZER25. Both have the right amount of power for city and highway and have very smooth engines.

P.s. Mahindra is bringing the good old Jawa back!
A bike on the road is worth two in the shed.

You did not mention the budget which you have are willing to shell.

Within budget & the category you have chosen, have very few options. T-350 you have rejected any ways, then you are left with Duke 350/Yamaha F25 & D400.

I took my bike of 13th Oct. Looking at all the bikes & options i choose D400 due to engine size/design/ABS/slipper clutch etc.

ride all 3 bikes & then make up your mind.

Damn bro... I heard the d400 2019 is gonna be loaded with features and maybe a 5bhp bump in power too! Not sure how much of this is true as all we have are spyshots. Anyway, no regrets [emoji869], i guess.

Yeah it's already a good bike. New update would only make it an even better package.

Exactly! Bajaj is really giving a tough competition to all the motorcycle companies out there. Probably why Honda resigned from the Indian motorcycling scene [emoji23].

Honda resigned? They have good selling 2 wheelers, but yh not much focus in performance segment.

Resigned as in almost dead in the motorcycling scene. All they have is a cbr250r for going head on (in vain[emoji23]) with the motorcycles of today, which hasn't been given an upgrade in god knows how long. I was sad when I saw the EICMA '18. With 150s delivering outstanding performance for an affordable price, Honda sure needs to wake up. There's a rumor that tge cbr150r will be relaunched in India sometime next year but that is almost the similar engine we had previously. Anyway, we're going OT, let's stick to the post.
