  • R15 v3 for city communte - Should I buy

    HI Guys,
I am planning to buy R15 V3. I am 6'1'' tall and weigh around 80, I do get back problems sometimes but regular exercises keep them away (I am 33!). I am just in love with R15 V3 but people have been warning me about its aggressive stance and that it cant be used for daily commute. Can the owners please let me know if you are facing, wrist, shoulder or back problems or anything else. Apologies if this question has already been answered, I am unable to find anything similar.

I like Yamaha bikes if not R15 (because of the aches mentioned), I am thinking of FZ 25.

    Really need your help.

Budget is 1.5 on road and I am looking for 150cc-250cc segment.

    Thread approved.

The stance of R15 V3 is quite aggressive indeed. I am 6'3 myself and I have used it for a week or so for a daily commute of around 35 kms (one way).
It can be a bit taxing but if you exercise regularly, it can counter the effects to some extent. And then gradually, the body adapts to it too.

The FZ 25 is much more relaxed and the power should be enough to keep one entertained. But when it comes to entertainment, the R15 V3 is like 'Taken' to the FZ 25's 'Rocky Handsome'.

Rest, I believe in 'to each, his own' so it is up to you.

    Ride Safe.

As a long term V2 owner, you do get used to the aggressive riding position. It also helps to keep shifting weight from your hands and shoulders to thighs and vice versa.
But if you already have a history of back pain, the R15 might make the condition worse; especially if your daily commute has lots of traffic jams and stop and go traffic. It is better to go for the fazer25 (if you want a faired bike) or the Fz25 (If naked street bike is your thing).

Honestly I have heard many cases where the back pain became so unbearable that people's doctor advised them to get a more comfortable bike and in some extreme cases told them to stop riding 2 wheelers altogether.

You are the best person to decide how bad your back is. Consult with a doctor, take long test rides of the bike and then make a well informed decision. If the pain persists, the Fazer 25 or Fz25 would be a much better and comfortable choice.

I wouldn't want you to spend a hefty amount of money on the V3 and then have to sell it off in just a few months due to unbearable back pain.
      Choose wisely. Ride safe.
I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

Rented the bike... Drove it for 40 odd kms in Bangalore traffic... Loved the feel of it but managing 2 bags was a pain..
Anyways, didnt have shoulder or wrist or backpain and I am hoping that with time I will get used to the riding position....
            Hence ...booked it [emoji16]
