Re: 200-250cc Daily Commuter + Tourer under Rs. 1.5 L
Depends on what you prefer.
NS200 - top end power, cheapest of the lot, relatively muted low end. Is a bliss on the highway and is perfect for hard riding.
RTR200 - smooth engine, enough power at low and mid range. Very engaging to ride. Slightly aggressive and cramped riding position.
FZ25 - one word - torque. Handling isn't as good as the above 2. What it lacks in handling, it makes up in engine response and torque. Very comfortable (upright) riding position.
P220 - a golden oldie. Very easy to maintain. Despite being quite old (relatively), it has good power spread throughout the rev range. Can easily match or even exceed the performance of the above mentioned machines.
Xtreme 200R - has the lowest power of the lot. Has good low end torque for city commutes. Very comfortable, upright riding position.
The RTR200 and FZ25 are more at home in the city than the NS IMO. Pillion seats are quite high for the RTR/FZ/NS of them, although pillion comfort is similar. P220 has good pillion comfort.
Skip the FZ25 if you require ABS and if you can't wait till the ABS rule kicks in.
Your height is pretty much perfect for all the mentioned bikes. Test ride all of them.Last edited by Shashank K R; 11-01-2018, 02:03 PM.

Nicely put bro, OP should test ride the bikes and I'd have been eager to TR FZ25 first.Originally posted by Shashank K R View PostDepends on what you prefer.

I am going to test ride NS200, Apache 200 & FZ 25 this week end. Whether can i take Apache 200 for long ride with pillion?? As you said above whether it will not be comfortable? What is issue with handling of FZ-25?
Do you have any idea about Xpulse 200T launch?Last edited by Aditya25; 11-17-2018, 12:13 PM.

No, if price is not your concern, then go for fz 250 / rtr 200 abs/ ns 200 abs.Originally posted by Aditya25 View PostGuyz i heard that Hero is going to launch Xpulse 200T. It looks great proposition. Whether it is worth waiting for another 2-3 months?
Among them fz has best city performance followed by apache.
For mix of both city and highway go for ns abs.
Xtreme has performance similar to apache 160 4v, you'll not get the fun in riding.

Looking at the launch history of the Hero motocorp; we are still waiting for Hastur and HX250R. Honestly I wouldn't hold my breath for anything Hero says.Originally posted by Aditya25 View PostGuyz i heard that Hero is going to launch Xpulse 200T. It looks great proposition. And even if they do launch it, The other options that the members have suggested are proven and tested, they are reliable and you can be sure that you won't face any problems if you go for them. Hero Xpulse however, would be a new bike and will have the usual new bike niggles for first year. I advise to wait for atleast a year before buying a new bike, because companies treat the owners as the test subjects and improve and rectify the bike's faults. Look at Dukes, NS200 and Himalayans of the first batch, the owners are still banging their heads over coolant mixing with engine oil, electrical problems and what not.
The only reason I see to wait for the xpulse is - if you want a adventure bike and want to go off roading. If that is not required the other tried and tested bikes would make much more sense than waiting for a new bike which may or may not be launched in the near future.I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

Re: 200-250cc Daily Commuter + Tourer under Rs. 1.5 L
I had same query and I was too confused -
what i have unraveled is below -
1) - Dominor (I was too interested in it so just giving the review)
Test Ride - The ride was quite good and comfortable, It handled pretty well on bad road and it easily goes over the speed breaker and
potholes. Please don't buy it for daily commuting as it is really heavy and taking U turns is really a task.(I have been riding R15 v1 so some people might have different opinion).
Price - 191000 on road ABS Gurgaon plus 555 offer -
Pros -Value of money and cheap to maintain for sure as compared to duke390.
Cons - Heavy and not meant for city commute
2) Fz25 -
Test Ride - It is so easy to ride. Whether you ride it on streets or Highway . Showroom guy also allowed me to take the ride with my wife, I can really say that this bike can handle load and Handling was not effected much. I would say it is not as agile as TVS apache 200 , But it has a very good pickup at right time and frame just gives you confidence.
Price - 140K - 145K on road - with discounts now you will get it for 135 (NCR)
Cons - No ABS
I am going to buy this motorcycle (Waiting for the ABS version)as i want commute daily and some touring too. A windshield ,knuckle guards and some improvement with the lights will do.
Note - Yamaha is going launch new models on 21st Jan so waiting for that too.
3) TVS Apache 200 carb abs-
Test Ride - I was disappointed by the power delivery and the ride feel is almost like i was riding a apache 180 with some steroids. ABS Sucked -The bike which rode was not a test bike, It was brand new - I will take the test ride once again as i saw many people praising the apache 200.
Price - 117k Value for money no doubt- (NCR)
Pros - Handling, Exhaust sound.
Cons - Bad ABS , Small bike feel.
4) NS200 -
Test Ride -The bike is good in power delivery But lacks in overall feel - Vibrations creep in as you revv. so out of choice . Handing is good. Feels lighter than FZ25 but not as torquey.
Pros - ABS. Handling.
Cons -Vibration.
5) Intruder 150 (I know you want a 200 cc - 250 cc )
Test ride - It is a great bike from 0 - 80 , I rode it with a pillion and the engine feels stressed as expected .
Engine is butter smooth and ride is quite comfortable . ABS worked well too.
Pros - Butter smooth engine , comfortable seats and suspension , mileage.
Cons - Under powered engine , rear end looks incomplete .
As i want a comfortable bike - R15 v3 is out of the way. If MT15 is launched, with a comfortable pillion seat and it will come with ABS, I will definitely go for it as i consider r15 engine very robust . I have done 80000 kms on r15v1 I used to still revv it really hard and The engine never ever break a sweat.
If no MT15 option comes and FZ25 comes with ABS - Then i would definitely go for FZ25 as i want to also use it in city.
You can also test ride Fazer25 , I saw videos stating that Fazer25 has a little bit less wind blast at higher speeds.(I have not taken the test ride but why would yamaha take headache of developing fz25 with a fairing)
Hope it helps.
