  • Pulsar 180 or Hero Xtreme 200R? Bike for hefty built person

Please help me choose a bike between Pulsar 180 and Xtreme 200R? I am 6 ft 2 inch and heavy built I love pulsar 180 but don't trust Bajaj's long term reliability...

You need to do more research mate.

Bajaj motorcycles are just as reliable as any other motorcycle in the market, if not better considering some of the Japs.

If you have a look at my signature you'll realize that I started with a Hero Honda and then have strictly stuck to options for Bajaj motorcycles, reason goes without saying as preference shifted towards long-term ownership and reliability.

As for the Xtreme 200R vs P180, its a no-brainer, if you want ABS then go with the Hero, if not then the P180 would do just fine as spare availability and ownership costs are considerably low for a Bajaj.

Xtreme 200 has an entirely new engine, doesn't makes sense to go for it right now.

Buy rtr 160 4v, it's very fun to ride, comfortable ,good mileage than both of the above mentioned bikes, oil cooling, 4valves and many more!

If you love pulsar go for it , P180 is not bad than Xtreme 200 !!

Mind that hero hasn't refined its motor yet !!! (atleast 200R).

But after March 2019 Indian auto will definitely face a major change!!

Chances are there ,to get ABS on Pulsars different range !! If you can wait for 4 months , then you can buy the ABS equipped one for sure !!

                  Choose wisely !!
                  Ride safe.

If your choice is strictly limited to the above two: here are my take on both the bikes:

Xtreme 200R: ABS, wide servicing network of Hero, newer and less common bike and returns good FE.
Pulsar 180: Time tested machine, sturdy, suited for taller riders, brakes offer great non-ABS feedback, more linear pickup.

If ABS is a deciding factor, go for the 200R. At 6'2, it won't be an issue to ride the bike. Seat height is about 790mm compared to P180's 800mm which is more suited for taller riders. If you like the other factors about 180, it's worth waiting for the ABS variant which will launch in the months to follow.
