  • ZX6R vs Z900(RS)

I currently ride an EX500. I plan to keep it for about another year, but like many of you, I find it hard not to fantasize about my next bike. My next bike criteria are ABS and fuel injection at a minimum. I've seen plenty of videos of the 2019 ZX-6R and it is just gorgeous. Plus the T/C, power modes, quick-shifter, and slipper clutch, what's not to love? I've also been debating Z900 vs Z900RS. Of the two, I think I'm leaning toward the RS, but that's mainly due to cosmetic factors. From what I understand, the RS is a bit more torque-y throughout the whole gear, while the ZX-6R loves that screamin' high end. I mainly use it to commute about a half hour each way, mostly highway (the roads around here aren't too exciting). However, I would love to get into some touring or bike camping, for which I think the Z900(RS) would be better. Although, track days sounds like a ton of fun since I fear my respect for the speed limit would quickly fade if I bought the ZX6R. Any of you guys own any of these three bikes? How does the 948cc RS compare to the race geared 636cc? Thanks in advance!

I think you misunderstood, I think Henry is referring to the US market not the Indian one. As he has currently stated he rides the EX500 and is planning to upgrade. As for your requirements henry i think the z900 rs fits the bill perfectly. It's a long legged tourer , has neo-retro charm to it, so what's not to like.

Not an expert on the subject, but if primary use is daily highway commute, plus strict Speed limits in US, I would go for Z900RS. ZX6R makes for a stronger case if canyon carving and track riding is more in the picture.
