  • Please suggest me bike around 1.5 to 2 lac ( ex showroom).

Dear Bikers, I have two questions:

    1. I want to sell my Thunderbird 350 2015 model, which is in a good condition. How much can I expect?

    2. I want buy a new bike so please suggest me one. I am using it for daily commute to office (not much of traffic) and monthly 1 to 2 long rides. I am not interested in top speeds and racing and also not a fan boy of RE too. All I want is reliability and comfort. And it should accompany me for at least 7 to 8 years. Please suggest me a bike for peaceful ride and long committed relationship.
My budget up to 1.8 lac ex-showroom (must not cross 2.5 on-road price).

      Hey buddy!

That's a good range! You can test ride Dominar 2019, Suzuki Gixxer SF250 or even the Apache RR310 for that on road price. Good machines. The three offer different aspects and only a test drive will truly tell you what fits best. Good luck for your new ride.

      Happy riding

Yeah I agree with this, I would personally incline towards the Suzuki. They are very robust and reliable machines, and are fun to ride as well.

Suzuki Fixer SF250 is a good bike but I am not much fan of faired type. I have test ridden Java and liked alot it's butter smooth mojo engine. But unfortunately Bajaj show rooms here don't have Dominar to Test Drive . They are given old dominar which was conditioned badly. I dint like the ride on it.
Is dominar 2019 engine is as smooth as Javas mojo?.And If I taken care it by regular servicing and without harsh riding will it stay with me for lifetime (atleast 10 years) as I don't want to switch to other bike in near future.

I had booked a Jawa but cancelled my booking (first in my city). The engine is smooth and if it suits you, go for it but the bike will not be delivered before winters. About the Dominar, a friend has the old model and maintained well the bike gives no issues whatsoever, same goes for any motorcycle.

Jawa has a modern engine with a retro look.
Dominar is all modern whether it's the looks or display or tech/engine or features.

Personally I bought an RS200 when I cancelled my Jawa and since I don't like the showroom in my city, I got it from a different dealer 75 KM's away within the state. I don't like changing bikes frequently either, I believe if we take care of the machine, it takes care of the rider so based on that, this RS200 is my third Pulsar for good reasons. Other brands I owned fell short in one aspect or another.

            Happy riding

You can take a look at the Duke 250 as well, it's a sharp looking bike which is largely neglected by most people.

How about the CBR 250R? It's old but not obsolete. Since you don't encounter much traffic the seating position won't be a hassle. Reliability comes as standard. Engine is pretty smooth too.

Have you considered the Xtreme 200 S? Good comfortable ergonomics, quick enough for the city, should be reliable and efficient as well, maintenance won't be expensive either. It also has some up-to-date features like smart phone connectivity etc. Worth a look.

You can try FZ25. No nonsense and relaxed.

You get plethora of bikes at that price point buddy.
You can go from a humble 150cc to a 373cc bike at that range.
Reliability and Comfort - Honda Unicorn 150 or Pulsar 150(they are mind boggling fuel efficient too).
Then you have Xtreme 200 and its siblings. Decent bikes with really good switchgear quality.
From TVS, you get Apache 160 4V or 200 4V.
You have Pulsar 220 and Avenger 22 now with ABS.
Up the budget and you have Jawa , Suzuki SF 250 and Dominar. The naked Gixxer 250 will be on its way soon.
Pick and sub-segment of budget and you can finalize it pretty easily.
Pick something from the middle and invest some in good helmet and jacket. I'll suggest good boots too if you want to indulge more.
                      Regards,

The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place. It will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it.

I have a Bajaj V15. It's three and a half years old, done about 11500 KMS around New Bombay. Had taken her on a trip to Nashik. 180 KMS one way and man was it tiring. The bike buzzes above 55 KMPH. Yes she touches 110, but at that speed she feels so strained, that it feels like she would disintegrate. Had numb fingers, toes and rear quarter. Very bad experience. Had to keep changing position and leaving the handlebar to feel better. Really really bad.
Need an upgrade that can handle 80 to 90 KMPH without any buzzing and triple digit speeds comfortably.
Daily commute about 30 KMS city and highway; and occasional ride for a holiday or solo trip.
                        Like the Interceptor and Dominar.
                        Any recommendations.
                        Thank you.

Apache 160 4v , FZ v 3 can do 80 to 90 kmph with ease, if u want less stress then consider apache 200 and fz 250 these are perfect for 80 to 90 kmph and are comfortable, even u can consider intruder and avenger 220 and pulsar 220 too.

Thank you for such a prompt reply. Problem is getting test rides with Yamaha. Panvel Yamaha says he doesn't have bikes. If you want to buy, buy, because he won't give test ride.
