Re: Bike for city cum touring purpose - Max 1.5 Lacs
160 4v is way better than gixxer for touring purposes. It has 16.2 bhp of raw power, an oil cooler, comfortable seat, soft suspension and smoothest engine in the segment !Originally posted by mayurthemad View Post

Re: Bike for city cum touring purpose - Max 1.5 Lacs
I'm in the similar age and height as you and was also looking for a bike in the range of 1.5 lakh extending upto 2 lakh.
I had test driven street 220 and felt its seat height is little short for my height so my knees were sitting taller than the tank which I think is not good for long distance. You can check how comfortable it is for you.
I heard good reviews of FZ25 so I went for a test drive. I do not know if it was the problem with the test vehicle but I felt there were jerks when I accelerated hard. Apparently it had just come from service. You should do a test drive and see
Apart from RTR200 and NS200, Hero launched Xtreme200S that comes into your price range. It is not as powerful as other 200cc bikes specially for touring but should be good for city. For highway you can cruise at 80kmph. I myself eyeing for Xpulse200 for my city commute and occasional touring but waiting for user reviews.

Hey bud,
I understand the height issue too but I fit well on my RS200. Have a test drive of Suzuki 250 though considering you can extend the budget.Originally posted by hshankara View PostI'm in the similar age and height as you and was also looking for a bike in the range of 1.5 lakh extending upto 2 lakh.

Hi Kunal,
Please take a test drive of MT15 and Duke 125. Apart from that NS200 is also wonderful. Big, powerful, comfortable, affordable, go anywhere kinda thing. Also, street 220 is very comfortable, by far the best in that range but it gets a little boring on the highway. However, once you hit the right places you'll have plenty of ease to look around and enjoy touring. Now while the cruise version looks better in my opinion, I'd still take street for the tubeless tyres

Don't have any brand preferences as I have previously owned/driven a Unicorn & Gixxer. What I am looking for is ABS and good mileage. My budget can stretch as far as 1.5 Lacs, but preferably somewhere in the range of 1-1.2 Lacs would be nice.
I would be looking to make the purchase in the month of August, so will give due importance to test-riding all possible options.
Thanks,

Thats not crusing, but crawling speed on the highway if anyone is thinking of long hauls. The rider will get bored after the initial few kms as you would be covering less distance per hour. For comfortable highway travel, its always better to go for 200+cc bikes (or premium 150cc like MT15) which can easliy cruise at triple digit speeds for extended period of time. Complete liquid cooling will be an added advantage as it will help keep things cool if one is doing long hauls in peak summer.Originally posted by hshankara View PostFor highway you can cruise at 80kmph.Yamaha Ray ZR Street Rally -> 2020

I agree cruising at 80km can get boring after some time. If one is using a motorcycle mostly for daily commuting and highway cruising once in a while and with a budget of 1.5lakh bike under 200cc, or 200cc should be ok. Wrt to 80km cruising speed, I mentioned it if going for Extreme 200s.Originally posted by hellgate View PostThats not crusing, but crawling speed on the highway if anyone is thinking of long hauls. Go in for the Xtreme 200R rather than the xtreme 200 S as the R Version does look more meaner and it is quite peppy for city and highway rides with loads of torque as well as it just fits your height and budget. And it has a single channel ABS. It is more Value for money.
Do take a Test drive before buying one.

You should Test Drive below bikes and consider the local service feedback of the bike manufacturer in your area also.Originally posted by kunalv View PostHello guys,

P220 - get past it's looks and you'll realize it has some good points to it like triple digit cruising, wind deflection by fairing, softer ride ideal for the kuchcha roads.
NS200/RTR200 - modern bikes with better refinement and rev happy. NS has liquid cooling so it's good for all day touring & RTR gets the Oil cooling but Slipper clutch.
MT15/R15 - being 150 cc VVA, these will offer you better mileage, especially in city. Liquid cooling and well refined, parts and maintenance will be costly than others though.
