  • Which bike Should I buy for leisure and utility?

    Hello,

I am a writer and spend most of my time reading and writing. However, I would love to go on long bike rides, exploring places and relaxing. I currently own a Bajaj Discover 2008 model, but that's only for local utility.
    My budget is 3-5L

I don't care much about top speed and acceleration. Would like to have decent and accessible performance though. Most importantly, I want a comfortable bike with no vibrations whatsoever, which can go the distance.

I don't like KTMs for they are too aggressively engineered for my liking.

Take look at the Kawasaki z650 it's just under 5 lakhs ex showroom. Biggest downside is that the service will be on the expensive side.

If you want something that will do it all and still keep money in the bank then the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 will be the one to go for.

If you are looking for a bike with a fairing then get the Yamaha R3, looks sporty but is pretty comfortable ergonomically.

Yamaha R3, Bajaj's Dominar or Kawasaki's Ninja 300,400 would be a decent choice. Do spend on a quality riding gears including helmet.

        Ride safe,
        Advance congrats on your machine.

With unknown delivery timeline! It's not recommended to go for it.

For OP - Bajaj Dominar, RE Interceptor 650 are the ones that come to mind. Now, do plan to spend well on the safety gear as you plan to go for long rides. And there are several aftermarket mods to customise the bike to your liking.

Search for some multi-cylinder cruzer bike. Maybe HD 750

I have decided not to spend this much on a big bike (mostly due to family). Will buy a car and a 150cc Bike instead.

Is FZ V3 a good option?

Yup FZ V3 is definitely a good option. Alternatively Honda Hornet 160r, Apache 160 4v , Gixxer 150, Intruder 150are other good options.

I actually loved the previous gixxer, but the new one seems to be out of place. Is FZ V3 good for 300-350KMS a day?

If you want the best from 150-160 cc segment, get Apache 160 4V, it's the best in its segment - power, efficiency, comfort.

Yes, although I own a previous gen Fz and haven't ridden the new version, but I guess since engine ia same, you can easilg do 300-400 kms a day

I agree, but it simply doesn't look as good as others. The twin barrel exhaust on the Apache is an eyesore, to be honest.

You can also checkout Honda Xblade, it has higher power and torque than fz v3 also it has an option of kickstarter in case of an emergency also it costs less than fz v 3
