Should I sell my 2009 karizma ZMR for another bike?
My Karizma ZMR is 10 years old. It is my very first bike and my buddy who never gave up on me. However since Hero has stopped the production of that bike, the spares are hard to find. I am thinking of selling it off but the decision is hard to take. The bike runs well and is reliable. However just the concern of non availability of spares is forcing me to take this decision. Should I sell it off? If yes which one should I buy within 400cc and 250cc bike segments? Is selling that bike the right decision? Will i get another reliable bike that that? If yes, which one is better?Last edited by xBhp; 07-03-2019, 04:21 PM.Tags: bajaj, decision making, dominar, karizma, karizma zmr, new bike, reliable bike, rr310, selling bike, tvs

The ZMR is still in production so part availability should not be an issue at the dealership since the that bike hasn't really changed mechanically. Basic parts like the oil filter, air filter, brake pads etc should be available. If those parts are also getting hard to find then I guess it's time to look for a new bike.
If budget is not a problem then I would suggest the Yamaha R3 ( there is a new one coming, you can wait for that or get some deals on the existing one). Dominar and the Himalayan are also good options to look at. In the 250cc segment have a look at the new Gixxer 250, Suzuki products are pretty reliable.

Gixxer SF 250 should be the best successor if you wish to stick to sub 2L bracketThere is no destination, I just want to keep riding.

What bike you should buy entirely depends on what kind of budget you have and what you expect from the bike. Also depends on whether you will ride mostly in city or highway or a mixture of both.

Well I want it for both highways and City... Like for going for long trips on weekends and for city ride like going to office on weekdays which is 20kms away from my home.Originally posted by hellgate View PostWhat bike you should buy entirely depends on what kind of budget you have and what you expect from the bike. You shouldn't have accepted broken spare. Now try to change svc. I don't see karizma owner will face any spare part problem. Getting body parts would be little time consuming everything else is available easily. What's your location?Originally posted by Archer123Hey, I had an accident back in Feb, the left side faring got completely damaged and when I went to the nearby service centre (authorized) they told I had to wait 3 months which I had when the products finally arrived they broke it. They had to superglue some parts together in order to put it back. They also told me to wait another month for the spares to come in. The broken part is mainly the clips under the headlight. Still I didn't get my side mirrors which I had ordered and my tail lamp which is broken. All in all it is in a mess and I am struggling to find the spares also. My only concern is now I am struggling to get the spares what about in the future will this be an issue?Just Me And Her [ZMR]

If budget is not a constraint, you can consider Ninja 300 or R3 or maybe Ninja 650 or Z650.
All these are parallel twins with enough power to keep you happy for quite sometime.
I have extensively used both N650 and R3 for both city and highway (long rides). R3 is easier to cut through heavy city traffic due to lighter weight.Yamaha Ray ZR Street Rally -> 2020
